GT-R not as fast as it seems...
I've been hearing the new August 08 C&D results leaking out....
How they rank these things is beyond me
but just look at the numbers...
Z06
0-60: 3.8sec
1/4mi: 11.9 @ 124mph
Top Speed 198mph
Track time: 2:01.7
Rank: 4th
Viper AC-R
0-60: 3.4sec
1/4mi: 11.8 @ 126mph
Top Speed: 180mph
Track time: 1:55.7
Rank: 3rd
911 GT-2
0-60: 3.7sec
1/4mi: 11.8 @ 121mph
Top Speed: 206mph
Track time: 1:59.7
Rank: 2nd
Nissan GTR
0-60: 4.1sec
1/4mi: 12.6 @ 111mph
Top Speed: 191mph
Track Time: 2:01.1
Rank: 1st
These are the same guys who did an 11.5 @ 124mph in a pre-production mule (which I'm betting is closer to Spec-V than the base). Anyways I did a little more fishing and the July 08 issue pits it against a 911 Turbo and M3 and take a look at that...12.5 @ 115mph. Now that and the 12.6 @ 111mph seems a bit more "ON PAR" with something making 480hp and being AWD with the weight it's got. Thoughts?

my thought is, that BMW M3 is sexy as hell.
Personally, im fixing to graduate in december with a bachelors. Anyways, for what I want to do with my career, if im going to spend that kinda cheese, I perfer the M3 hands down. But im bias, as I have always loved the M3.

There was GTR up here at the track last wednesday, there were 2 drivers who don't race much, one not at all, they ran a best Et of 11.8 and the best mph was 122.8, they hot lapped a bunch of runs, running consistent 120-122 mph traps, and 11.8's - 12.2's

I'd just blame it on beaten down "press cars", and C&D not being able to drive.
Also, I hear using the "dummy launch" feature doesn't substitute a good driver doing it himself. That could be taking away from the times, too.
