The high-powered Caliber SRT4 is being cut from the Dodge lineup. The folks over at Car & Driver noticed the absence of the vehicle in Dodge's 2010 product lineup and have confirmed with Chrysler Page Ranking that this is no mix-up. The SRT4 is dead. Sadly, this also means that no model in the company's new lineup will feature the Caliber's 285-hp, 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.
Under new ownership by Fiat since the U.S. automaker emerged from bankruptcy protection, Chrysler's Dodge brand will instead focus on moving more high-volume Caliber models.
The Caliber SRT4 is just the latest high-performance vehicle to become a casualty of the recession, with one of the car's main competitors, the Chevy Cobalt SS Sedan having been eliminated from GM's product lineup earlier this year.
I can now confirm 100% that the Caliber SRT4 has been put back on the production schedule for model year 2010. Production of the 2010 SRT4 will begin in early January, 2010.
The SRT4 will also get the new interior updates (new instrument panel with center top covered storage bin, new door trim panels with soft armrests and vinyl wrapped upper panels, new floor console with soft armrest (includes a secondary armrest storage bin) and front seat Active Head Restraints.
Other new features include Hill Start Assist, Heated Mirrors and power 6-way drivers seat. The new Automatic Climate control system will not be available on the SRT4 models. The SRT4 will come with the new 5-year/100k powertrain warranty. SRT4 production will be very limited for the shortened 2010 model year.

The death of the car didn't make any sense at all. In percentage comparison it sells better than the base version, and if they are going to continue to make the regular version then why kill off the performance version, especially with a new interior refresh.
I do believe though that the next version will be based on something from the smaller fiat car platform with the roughly the same motor, just refreshed.

The caliber SRT model being finished is because even local dealers that were selling them at like.. 15k weren't being sold.. if i had the cash, and knew it existed, we would've gotten that SRT instead of the Patriot.
