Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne will also serve as CEO of the newly formed U.S. company. Though he has been silent on many of the specifics, sources familiar with the planning work say there is a strong likelihood that the Chrysler brand of cars and SUVs will be eliminated and replaced by Fiat, and sold alongside Dodge and Jeep vehicles in combined dealerships that will carry all three brands.
makes sense I still think GM should have dropped everything but Chevy and Cadillac. The less brands that make the same exact car the better. Look at the Japs they generally have the budget and lux brand (ie Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti....)

Oh for farks sake, now we have the political police enforcement? For the record most people who say japs aren't using it as a derogatory term. I fail to see how it is 'terribly racist' when there is no intent.

People don't know it's racist, so they just throw it around like it isn't. That's why I tossed it out there as an FYI I would agree that the intent did not seem to be racist, but that's where the problem lies; ignorance. Just because the term doesn't personally insult you doesn't make it any less offensive to others. It didn't really require a reply.

A word is only racist because people make it racist. Prior to WWII it was just an abbreviation for Japan/Japanese.
Dude, edit button is helpful. Also - I agree; it has to do with the context and intent with which it was said. (PS: "pluralization" or "generalization" is why people get offended by these words). I am a firm believer of "you're only offended if you want to be offended"
Now can we get back to the on-topic stuff?
Chrysler has had no true identity for a long time. And the 300C/200C were/are attempts to regain a direction in the company. Chrysler has basically had clones of the Dodge cars for a while; with most of the duplication taken away, what does that leave you with? The PT, and what's left of the Pacificas and Crossfires; so with that being said, it wouldn't be a bad move to put Alfa-Romeo in there as Chrysler vehicles; Competizone; Brera, etc.
I think they're trying to give the Chrysler back an identity; aside from being a clone-shop of Dodge vehicles; which are supposed to be lower-end vehicles on the line-up anyways..
This is how it basically works out, as far as we know..
oh; .. let me know if I'm wrong on the image.
We know the Avenger/Sebring are undergoing major plastic surgery; along with the Caliber, as Chrysler may soon have access to the Lancer/Evolution for use in a Dodge vehicle of similar nature.

They just need to use the damn photoshop with the dodge front end and build it, people would go nuts on that thing.
I was pretty surprised to see the dakota on the chopping block, I thought that was a decent seller. Maybe now they will build an actual small truck (and put the SRT-4 all world motor in it?) one can only hope... a nice little pickup that gets 28 mpg would be nice, maybe even higher than 30 mpg with the right motor.
Just like we'd thought they are cutting the jeep models down, which is smart IMO
