A bankruptcy filing won't mean the end of the company. Under the bankruptcy law that Chrysler is filing under, a judge would decide how much creditors would get, but is likely to go with any settlement agreed to by the majority of the creditors, the people said.
Well, although bankruptcy sucks, it may not be much different from what the outcome was in the first place, it just forces the hedge fund creditors, who hold 30% of the debt, to go along with the deal already agreed to by the majority banks who hold the other 70%.

This would give them a solid basis, with a minimal loss of platforms (goodbye GS, JS), and give the New Chrysler v4.0 a strong lineup with minimal repetition between in-house brands.
It's bad enough there's as much selection out there as it is, I think it's pathetic people shopping for a 5-door family car have 4 choices alone from ChryCo. Make the choices clear for the consumer, concentrate on your core products, cut the crap, and come out guns blazing.
As much as I'd love to see the 500 (let alone the Abarth) as a Chrysler / Dodge, I don't think Fiat will let their little gem get diluted with a Chrysler badge on the front.

I don't know about killing the Avenger...I see those things all around my city. But that'd be a good list.

Keep.. the compass.... The Compass is everything that Jeep is NOT.
It needs to die... The Patriot needs to be more like the Cherokee. Hell, they need to bring the Cherokee back.
The key here is to eliminate cross-brand pollution. While I do suggest killing the Chrysler Town & Country, it would make sense to have a Dodge Town & Country trim level on the Caravan. Eliminates the need for crash testing because of different grille designs, etc.
Also, makes it very easy for the consumer; which trim level would they prefer, instead of which trim level would they prefer on which minivan, with a few different exterior pieces.
Agreed. I think they should bring back the Pacifica, honestly, for the Chrysler brand. They've had a difficult time defining "Chrysler" since Daimler aborted it. I think the line should go as such; all with all-electric, range-extended electric, or Hemi hybrid/dual-mode, if they really feel they must, the "Penastar' v6's.

I do see the need for a little rally-car from Jeep; that would be fun to have too; which is why most people liked the Compass as it was. The car is not a failure; whoever decided on the front-bumper design is the failure. The car itself is quite nice, and very comparable to the other two. It would be great for rallying, if it were not so FWD reliant. [Production Bumper][Compass Rallye] < you tell me who fails.
