DOES THAT THING HAVE A HEMI ? FREE UPGRADE !

The question that has haunted the very soul humanity for eons—”that thing gotta hemi?”—should hopefully drift out of the vernacular, as ChryCo is offering free Hemi V8 upgrades on every Ram 1500 they sell during “shovel ‘em out the door,” uh, make that “truck month.” So yes, good sir, it’s got a Hemi. But as Wikipedia puts it, “today, ‘hemi’ is little more than a trademark that bears little meaning, descriptively, for the engines designated as such.

The gift that keeps on giving

With a HEMI® V8 under your hood, get up to 20 MPG[3] and benefit from the Multi-Displacement System (MDS) that seamlessly deactivates half the engine’s cylinders in fuel saver mode when less power is needed. Plus, get increased torque and efficiency with variable cam timing (VVT), stronger hemispherical cylinder heads and a new short runner valve active intake manifold.
Eligible Ram models include:

2009 Ram 1500 Quad and Crew Cabs[4]
2008 Ram 1500 Quad and Mega Cabs[4]

To build your Ram from the ground up, head to Build My Own and select one of the eligible cabs. The rest of the options are up to you. Or, for even more savings, check out current Ram 1500 incentives or Find a Dealer near you for more information.
Program Compatibility:

This program is compatible with the following program types, providing the vehicle meets all program eligibility requirements:

Automobility program
Military Consumer Cash Allowance
On The Job Certificate
Farm Bureau Program
Chrysler Employee Advantage
Dealership Employee Purchase
Friends Program
Chrysler Affiliate Rewards programs
programs
Employee Pricing Plus
National or Regional Consumer Cash Allowance / APR programs
National or Regional Consumer Lease Loyalty Cash programs

Ram Truck Month - Free Hemi

Any word on the razor or demon from anyone? I have a hankering for a RWD Turbo car. I don't necessarily want a Solstice/Sky or Mazdaspee Miata. Preferably in low orbit pricing.

^^^ Something tells me that a small, RWD car isn't in the cards for Chrysler anytime soon, unless it's some sort of Fiat re-badge.

Chrysler-Fiat Deal Valued at 10 Bil.

DETROIT (Reuters) -- Chrysler LLC's proposed deal with Fiat SpA is worth up to $10 billion for the cash-strapped U.S. automaker and could preserve 5,000 North American manufacturing jobs, Chief Executive Bob Nardelli said Monday

We estimate the cash value of Fiat's contribution to be between $8 and $10 billion considering the cost to develop these vehicles, platforms and powertrains from scratch," Nardelli said in a e-mail to employees. The value of the proposed deal would come from synergies in the areas of purchasing, engineering and contribution of technology, Nardelli said.

The No.3 U.S. automaker has a non-binding deal with Italian automaker Fiat, which has agreed to take a 35% stake in Chrysler in exchange for access to technology and overseas markets.

Under the terms of the deal, Fiat will not pay cash for the stake in Chrysler, which is 80.1% owned by Cerberus Capital Management.

"Production of vehicles for Fiat in North America will allow Chrysler to increase its plant utilization, helping to preserve and create in excess of 5,000 manufacturing jobs," Nardelli said. "The overall contributions from Fiat and the synergies we realize will far exceed the value of the government loans."

Chrysler and larger rival General Motors Cor have requested nearly $22 billion in additional U.S. government loans to ride out a deep plunge in the U.S. vehicle demand.

Chrysler, which has already received $4 billion in emergency U.S. government loans, is "absolutely" viable business on a stand-alone basis, Nardelli said.

The automaker has had a series of "very constructive discussions" with the U.S. Treasury and the Presidential task force on its request for $5 billion in additional aid, the CEO said in the e-mail.

On a side note ; suz, can you photoshop the Alfa MiTo GTA with 200C style headlights / grille ?

If anything, I see the MiTo being a Dodge.. "bargain", not the Chrysler up-swing. And we don't know what their new plan is for the "face" of Dodge's cars yet. They've obviously figured out that they don't need a crosshair for it to be a dodge. [read: Challenger]

It's sort of a crappy angle for this type of chop. Not much body side showing.

I was having a hard time finding a "similar" angle of the 200c, myself. All the photos are taken from above the headlights.

To reply to the 'jeep' post from above... Chrysler LLC is being ridiculous with Jeep. They need to get rid of everything except three models, they have just whored out Jeep big time and they do NOT sell enough of all the different models to justify the money they are flushing down the drain on the brand name. Keep the wrangler, grand cherokee, then a midsize, whichever sells best.

Otherwise known as "Go back to basics" idea. Function OVER form, they seem to have lost back when AMC was taken over, and the GrandWagoneer was lost.

Midsize = Cherokee -- Where "Grand" is just a package again. Make it the best off-road vehicle you can, while keeping it SIMPLE but EFFECTIVE. You can't beat that for PRICE or Functionality.

Large = Wagoneer -- Where "Grand" is just a package again. You CAN tweak the current Commander and get it to sell [LINK]; granted my version, the nose isn't perfect yet. This would be the top-end vehicle with the top interior anemnities.

Small = STi/Evolution fighter with 4wd CAR, not "Crossover/ute" [maybe even electric/ eRev]
-- Keep the Patriot, just modify it a little [link] to make it more off-road savvy.

Pickup = Ram derived J10/J20
