Everything else bores the piss out of me. Including the Alfas. Well, the affordable ones anyways.
But yes; SRT needs to hit the ground running here; a lot of 'ole favorites are either coming back full force (2010 MS3), or rumoured to be coming (Focus ST). Give us a cheap turbo 4, and a mid-size turbo something. Please. Enough with the drought already. I want something fun to drive everyday again.
I like the Grand Punto. Very small and looks like it could be a blast to drive and return some serious mileage in the process (even with a monster turbo4 under the hood).

x2.
The purpose of me bumping this thread before was to see if any of the people here "in the know" were able to give us any info on the whole fiat deal...

It is very much in the preliminary stages, not sure if they are behind closed doors banging out the details or what. We are just speculating now

Chrysler LLC has had three offers to buy its Dodge Viper sports car business, co-President Jim Press said today.
"We're doing due diligence," he said in a conference call with reporters.
Chrysler announced plans to sell the Viper operation in August. Sale of the business has since become part of the company's strategy to avoid bankruptcy. Chrysler must submit a restructuring plan to the U.S. Treasury by Feb. 17 and demonstrate its longer-term viability by March 31 in order to preserve a $4 billion federal loan.
"We don't anticipate it will be done by then," said Press, referring to a possible sale by the March 31 deadline.
The Viper factory in Detroit employs about 110.
Chrysler sold 1,172 Vipers in the United States last year. Last month, Viper sales rose 74 percent from a year earlier to 127 units
No offense, but something will be lost if Dodge does indeed spin off the Viper. Do they have a halo car in the wings? Something to bring customers into the dealerships, set forth a design language, and for all the other performance vehicles to slot under?
What will happen to SRT with the Viper sale? Frankly, a Dodge without the Viper or SRT team is just a fleet of Calibers, Avengers and Durangos. None of which are inspiring, good products that are selling well.
Feb 17 is coming up fast. Let's see some hints of what's to come.
And welcome back AllForSRT.

I'm going to go out on a limb, and say the Challenger and Circuit EV will be the new "halo" cars. The thing is, only the American cars have that - unless you count Camry and Civic, because they sell well? They may be on-to something here. You don't NEED a Halo car when they are NEVER at the dealerships. Especially since people are avoiding Chrysler dealerships like the plague due to service and high-pressure salesmen that dont even know what they're selling.
As far as Viper goes, Saleen doesn't do bad work; I just dont want to see the viper turned into a kit-car that the Shelby Cobra now is. However, I wouldn't mind seeing the Viper go to Shelby. Dodge worked with Shelby in the past, why not?
Shelby Charger:
GLHS:
It might retain the Dodge name...Many companies have their cars out sourced. When the Cobra came out it was first called the AC Cobra, because of the AC sourced bodies. Im willing to bet Dodge will be supplying the bodies and drivetrain and whomever ends up getting the rights to build the car will be more of an investor.
The Viper Team is more of a seperate business within Chrysler....making it its own sub corporation. Whoever is buying the business also is taking on the 110 or so employees of the team.

I hope you are right, I can't imagine a Viper without the Dodge name

Hmmm...Saleen isn't doing well right now. I even mentioned Saleen SEVERAL pages back because they took over painting them.
Doesn't look like a company about to buy the Viper brand.
