Its pretty sad when a corvette gets better gas mileage than the 6 cylinder version of the challenger.
I understand it's not much of a difference, but if you're going to try to contribute and present an argument, at least get the facts straight. I would imagine with the launch of the Phoenix V6's in the next year or so those numbers will improve slightly also.

The new Ram was devolped to adapt to various size trucks. Including an "extra" light duty model. IE the Dakota replacement.
Yea, But it is still a big truck... There needs to be a truck like the S10. Or Jeep needs to make the JT, it would be PERFECT. I honestly think it would sell like hot cakes.
As far as the new dual-clutch autos and the Phoenix V6s go, when will the U.S. Avenger being seeing them. I have heard about in the 09 or 10 model year. Also, any idea about the power output and gas mileage of these engines yet. Numbers, not just more power and more efficient.
If I could get an Avenger with 230+ hp and around 28mpg highway rating, that would be ideal. Seems reasonable to me at least?

The car isn't that bad actually. i like the look of the front. i don't think it needed the charger look on the rear quarter. We have sold many of them and people like them. the reviews don't do it justice. i think that there could be some more soft touch like the 2008 chargers got. i bet this is in store for 2009. the features are cool. i can think of PLENTY of times i could use a heated/cooled cup holder.
one thing i severely dislike is that the seat rails are exposed when the front seats are moved back. a simple cap could have been made for that. I also am not too keen on the two latch center console. hard to remember which opens which and they are hard to operate.
the 2.4, 4 cyl is plenty powerful even for highway driving. the 2.7 can jump of a cliff. i hate flex fuel for the simple fact that i have to explain the worthless feature. there is like 1 station in san antonio and E85 costs the same as regular gas. i am not here to preach that e85 uses home grown fuel and that it is "better" to spend more $$ on E85. shit the reason people want small cars is the cost of fuel - for the most part the average joe doesn't spend more to do the "right" thing. they just want to be able to meet a monthly budget and fuel cost is becoming a big part of that. back on topic. the 3.5 could have used a bit more power, but the 6-speed is very nice. i wonder if the reviewers know that dodge exhaust notes are supposed to growl a little bit. it is kind of our thing. it isn't supposed to be silent. i do wish they had a turbo 6 AWD in this car. it would be FUN and i could have my galant VR-4 that i never got
anyways... i really bet that the duster, dart, and demon are coming. please please please.
i really liked how the old dodge shadow looked
i would like to get one and drop a 4g63t AWD powertrain in it

one more thing on the avenger - it is a TAD high in price. the mercury milan with a v6, 6sp auto, HIDs, and leather can be had for around $21k. the SAME equipment in an avenger runs $23k.
And i think the milan looks much cleaner. (i know the milan because i work at a Dodge, Lincoln, and Mercury Dealer)
one thing i find VERY interesting is how alike the Dodge and Ford product are starting to look.
I will take some picture tomorrow of the milan and the avenger. certain parts almost look EXACTLY the same. i did a back to back demo one day for a customer and i was like "WTF? do they buy parts from the same supplier?"

It is a regional thing, you live in "OIL" country, I live in "CORN" country, E-85 is readily available here, and the general public knows what it is if for no other reason than they see the prices at the pump, and its cheaper.
Side note, I'm building a 13 to 1 505 stroker 440 for my 50 Chrysler to run on E-85, OMG I'm going GREEN! Not really, but it is cheaper, and by building my motor specifically for E-85, I wont be losing as much fuel economy. Anyway with 13 to compression, I can run a BIG cam, and get the nice pro stock idle sounds
