Because they are heading in the wrong direction. They are putting all their eggs into the muscle car basket even though they know they will need to make some serious changes come 2020.
Their designs are repetitive and uninspiring. Half of their new cars are jokes, and its not surprising that they are taking so many off the production line.
They made the demon into a 21st century del sol.
They butchered the legacy of the neon with the caliber.
They never offered a manual transmission with any srt-8 or srt-6 vehicle. What can we honestly look foward to? A 2 door charger that weighs more than 4100lbs, and is just a carbon copy of a car made 40 years ago? Whoopty fucking doo!
What else can I say?

dont know if nyone seen or heard but, i heard rumors of an srt nitro and sebring.......they had pics of them in those little srt books they send.....other than that i havent heard anything since, and yea def manual trans. should of been an option for srt-8 and srt-6..............
because in a sense, dodge at the moment is kinda like this board. when things were hustling and bustling this place was fun and a lot of people came here to relax and joke around. you could refresh a page and the entire listing would change with all that many posting. now look at the board. dodge's fate= srt board. lots of good people left(as in went somwhere or got the ban stick), and upper management making un-intelligent decisions. and look at dodges products now. things that could have been great, nitro, avenger, i bet even the sebring looked better on the drawing board than what it is now. now half the dodge product is still born or dying (looking at you compass)
Following the announcement this past January that Nissan would be supplying Chrysler with a new car based of the Versa's platform, the two automakers announced today that more exchange is on the horizon, including a new small car for Chrysler and a Dodge-based pickup for Nissan.
The unnamed small car will be built by Nissan in Japan utilizing a Chrysler design and will be sold in North America, Europe and other markets in 2010. On the other side of the spectrum, Chrysler will build a full-size pick-up for Nissan that will share design cues with the rest of the Nissan line and be built at Chrysler's Saltillo Assembly Plant in Mexico. Sales of the pick-up will begin in North America in 2011.
The move is part of an effort by both automakers to utilize each other's global manufacturing facilities and finally gets Carlos Ghosn, Nissan's CEO, the American automaker partnership he's been looking for since last year.
We're hoping on a conference call with Nissan to see if either automaker releases more information, but in the meantime check Chrysler's press release after the jump.
UPDATE: No word on whether or not the new Nissan pick-up will use Chrysler's hybrid drivetrain. Nissan spokespeople are not calling this a partnership, rather an "OEM exchange" and nothing more.
UPDATE 2: The Nissan pick-up will be a full-size light truck.
UPDATE 3: The Chrysler small car will be on a Nissan-developed platform and will be covered in Chrysler-designed sheetmetal. The platform will not be based of the Versa. Nissan reps couldn't answer any questions about whether or not the small car will share
any design cues from the Dodge Hornet concept.
UPDATE 4: We're going to hop onto the the Chrysler conference in a bit and will update this post with information as it happens. Check back in about 30 minutes for more.
UPDATE 5: Chrysler and Chery are still working together. Chery has Chrysler drivetrain people working with them now. Chery-developed B-segment model is still in the offing, but no idea when it could come to the U.S.
UPDATE 6: Chrysler's design team just wrapped up styling of the small car, so it's doubtful that it will share many cues with the Hornet concept. Too bad, since the Hornet was well received. LaSorda says, "it's a beautiful design."

Yea, but Majority of that was all Daimler... You do realize this.. Right? All except for the screw up with the Demon, Which if i recall.. Its not Official.
They Couldn't offer a manual with the SRT Crossfire.. There was no Manual transmission for the AMG 3.2l. And if you haven't been paying attention to the news.. There will be a 6speed available on the Challenger. Which I also imagine will go into the other LX's.

autoblog says that it isn't based on the versa but automotive news says it is versa based...
why would dodge give nissan the ram platform? the nissan truck is ready to die.
what scares me is that chrysler now is supplying the ram to nissan and the grand caravan to volkswagon. Those are the two biggest draws to the dodge brand. the challenger and the charger are the next two.
its scary to think that the ram gets sold to nissan, the grand caravan to volkswagon, the charger goes away and the challenger becomes a chrysler cuda.

Does fullsize light truck mean the Ram? I was thinking the Dakota.. But I guess full size means the ram.. Even though the Dakota is so F'n big now anyways.

Alright, so in say...the next four years..have we really seen anything that looks promising? IMO, the answer is no.
you mean the last four years? You realise these concepts are started months if not years previous to showing the full-size versions. Not to mention now is when chrysler holds its own - with its own design philosophy, not sanctioned by Daimler. I hope to see some great looking cars.. like this one i made out of a 300C - its a long wheelbase though..
