Sorry to bring this up again, but your argument is absolutely terrible. You argue that an economy car, truck, and sports car have different steering wheels for one manufacturer and alude to the fact that dodge uses the same wheel for all three of those types of vehicles.
Am I missing something?
I'm am; that's what "Add user to Your Ignore List" is for. It cleans up the forums amazingly.
Challenger. That is one fat car. The performance is still impressive, but it's a damned shame that all the increases in technology and fuel efficiency are offset by the extra weight they have to carry around.
Wonder if it weighed 300-500lbs less... would it still have a gas guzzler tax... and man would it be damned fast.

as for the challenger's weight, that y'all are SO concerned about..
M3 Coupe - 3415
M3 'Vert - 3781
Lexus ISF - 3780
CTSV - 4350
Mustang Cobra - 3800
its not as overweight as you guys make it out to be, really. It's a little [to say 2-300lbs] overweight, but due to modern safety standards, everything increases in weight, every year. Stop bitching, seriously, we get it, you don't like the weight. Argument completed, Done.
It's not like the aftermarket, or individuals aren't going to have any weight-saving ideas/stuff. With this car, you know they will . If you're in the market for one, and are actually going to REALISTICALLY buy one, then you can complain, but how many of you, realistically, when this thing comes out, are actually going to go out and purchase it?
I can't see how it weighs more than 4000-lbs seeing it is only a two-door. This Challenger model can make the 0-60MPH in 4.9 seconds.
The wheel base is chopped, but the car is still longer than a 300C... I believe I read that they had to add some additional reinforcements in the side because of the redesigned b-pillar. It doesn't have the beefy Charger b-pillar, so they needed to reinforce it, and in the end it's a wash.

People keep saying the Camaro is going to be lighter. Has GM released information on the weight of the Camaro or is everybody just speculating?
It is just speculation, but it is based on facts. The G8 is based on the same platform (Zeta) and has a drivetrain that should be similar (small block V8 6speed auto). It weighs in at just under 4000lbs. So, you remove two doors and put in a 6 speed and you could get to 3800lbs easy. Any lower than that is just us hoping.
Get rid of: Compass, Avenger [current], Sebring [current], Magnum [sadly], Commander, Pacifica, Nitro, Crossfire [Thought they had, but it was at the autoshow!], and a few of the variants (Ram Daytona etc..). Viper will probably be on the list too, as bad as that'll suck - it had a GREAT run! 1992-2008? Sounds good for a concept turned product.
There's a lot of fat around the edges. In order to strengthen your core products, you have to cut your losses and concentrate on the ones that bring in the bacon.
