Who the fuck cares about the interior? Is this a fucking BMW site? Jesus! All I care is how good it looks in my driveway and how it performs on the highway. Generally when I'm driving I look out the windshield. I don't sit there and look at the center console or the trim on the inside of the door.
Agree and disagree. The interior in my srt neon and srt crossfire to me is very functional and completely acceptable. But the wife's caliber is nothing but hard plastic shit. I'm glad that this, New Day program adds new features to Chrysler vehicles, is happening as I type this and hopefully things will take a turn for the better in the very near future.
I agree that we're not driving BMW's, but I don't expect a piece of shit interior for ~$20k for a caliber and definitely not for $40k for a srt challenger in a few years.
From what I cantell by Parkermans pic. The seats are very close to the concept. The only thing I don't think is as good as it coul've been was the HVAC area. That area has looked the same since the 80's. Tryin not to hate on it but can't there be some kind of innovation? That cluster of crap could've been lowered for lower center of gravity. I wish I had photshop.
The Challenger's seats will most likely be the current SRT8 seats, albiet with different fabrics and trim. So, they'll be Charger SRT8 seats, but with the colored strip insert. Which is what the concept had, but padded more and with shiny leather and nifty stitch patterns.

you know, after a more careful look at it.. it's not HORRIBLE, just not what I was expecting.. The console really kills it for me with that standard radio. The GPS is almost REQUIRED.

Accent's and highlights are all that is needed really when it comes to the seats. I've seen far far worse interiors. For the most part I'm diggin it but that dash just seems heavy and bulky compared to the concept.
Funny how on this site everyone would go nuts when the Acura owners would make fun of the SRT4 interior. Then no one cared about interiors, but now all of the sudden the Challenger's interior (which looks pretty nice to me) is a bid deal.
Overall I am not crazy about the car, but it is a bit too expensive for me anyway and I need 4 doors.
Because the Neon cost $20,000, and in order for it to be 20K, they had to cut some corners. This car is going to be TWICE that with the same plastic interior that has made Dodge a punchline for YEARS.
For 40K, you get into the realm where there better not be any damn corners cut.
How can you attach the word "nice" to that HVAC area? It looks like a rental.
As for the seats, I REALLY liked the ribbed look. Only thing better than those concept seats would have been a bench in front.
And for the record, Acrua's interiors are AMAZING. I sat in a TL the other day and was blown away.

IMHO GPS has NO place in a performance car. My wife's Grand Cherokee? Yes.. A 6 Speed Rear wheel drive performance car? Puhleeeze..

You could say the same thing about a back seat. If you want something that extreme, used Vipers are increasingly affordable.
My Challenger will be a third car, but it'll see some daily-driver use during good weather. I'll be grateful for the back seat, and I'll probably get the GPS.
