I think Allpar is (deliberately) underestimating there. I wouldn't be surprised to see the 6.1 at or over 450 in the very near term; the 6.4 should be a solid leap from there.

They are. The 392 that you can order from mopar RIGHT NOW puts out more than that. in carb'd form it puts out 540HP.

Oh ok cool. Thats good that they underestimate it. But what will the final version have that they put in the srt-8's? And I know its mucho dinero to order that crate motor right now. Hopefully when whenever they do start putting the 6.4 in the srt-8 it wont make the price sky rocket all to hell.

The 6.1 is going to be upgraded for sure. According to various insiders, the 6.4 won't replace the 6.1, it'll be used to create a new tier.

So the 6.4 will be like a whole new version> like SRT-8 R or something like that? Hmm wonder how much that will cost. Probably a grip. Or will it stay just a crate motor?

I would think that the 6.4 would go in the SRT and the 6.1 would create something in between R/T and SRT. Of course that is just a guess. Then again maybe they will have SRT HO (High Output) models. That would have the 6.4 and the regular SRT will have the 6.1.

440-480hp for the 6.4l sounds pretty low, especially when the current 6.1l's have been proven to be underrated and are near 450hp already. I'm expecting 500hp at least.

The 6.4 @ 440-480HP is 15-65 More than the 6.1. So I'm sure they will be @ or > 500HP.
