Yeah, I meant the base model Crossfire.. but yeah, the SRT-6 supply was stopped in 2005 such an awesome car to drive
The SRT-8s are great cars, don't get me wrong, but once you get past the hype and the initial impressions, you start to notice the short comings. The pre-programmed slow shifts, the open dif, the ridiculous ESP settings (early '06 and 05s) interior quality is lacking, and these are NOT cheap vehicles. There is more that I'd like to see change, but I wouldn't turn one down, but after all the experience I have driving them, I don't think that I'd buy one.
Why will the Challenger be better? Because if they F-it up, they're really left with only the Viper IMO. The Caliber SRT-4 is such a ridiculous looking hunk of crap that I've lost a bit of faith.
I should mention that I'm a huge fan of the new Viper, the Challenger, and even the 300C SRT-8 still, but I have my issues with the SRT-8 Lineup. There's just too much that they've left out IMO.
The few upgrades to the interior for 08 made a big difference IMHO. Now that the code is available, the shifts are only a tune away, and the ESP is easy My buddie ran wire taps to the fuse panel, put an inlie fuse and switch in the dash, so you flip the switch, and allESP functions are gone. These are all good things, because the Challenger is on the same platform, and most of the leg work has been completed by this point.

There is a NO ESP module you can buy for $50 that quickly takes care of turning ESP completely off using the factory switch. This is more so for the R/T's as I'm pretty sure the newer SRT's can be turned off with the factory switch anyway.
Just as murfman said, there is finally tuning coming out now that can take care of the shifting issues, and Mopar makes a replacement TCM which solves it as well. Granted it would be nice if they were better from the factory, but these things can easily be corrected.
I don't know of many (if any) comparable sedans that give you the kind of performance you get, for the price, that the SRT8's do.

Did Foose design the Pronto? And i didnt know it had a cloth top... but i dont mean build it exactly to that concept. I just liked the way it looked vs the way the pt cruiser looks. It was more sporty.
yes he did, yes it does, and i agree vs. the production pt.
profits as told by insider is needed for revenues....however, the first year is not the car I would purchase since it will be overpriced and wait for the 6.4 version.

Yea, if alot of people think like that however.. many years down the road. it might be worth alot.. lol.

Yes and 6 speed manual. The Tremec in my SRT-10 has me spoiled. 5.7L R/T plus aftermarket would not be a bad idea either.

Exactly, perfectly stated. It seems kind of silly to knock the SRT8 lineup for such trivial matters as what was listed. While there were some issues with 1-2 WOT shift hesitation on some early models, that issue was addressed with a Flash long ago. The majority of owners are more than happy with how the shifting is set up. For those that aren't, their choice has been to experiment with the backyard-tuned aftermarket modules and usually end up with more problems than when they started.
As far as interior quality, that is subjective. People ridiculously compare the interior quality to that of vehicles costing tens of thousands of dollars more. The SRT seats are superb, and the interior fit and finish for all SRT models has been right up there. The interiors are also very intuitive as far as controls go. Compare that to some of the "high quality interior" vehicles that have overly complicated and awkward controls. The SRT vehicles were designed for performance, and in that respect, as they say, they kick some serious ass.
