Steve Houtman, Program Manager - Jeep Performance/Dodge Off-Road Parts, recently posted an article on the official Chrysler LLC blog site that he's looking into starting an Off-Road Technology (ORT) program similar to Chrysler's SRT (street and racing technology).
They should have done this ages ago. This is EXACTLY what Jeep needs. Great news if it happens.
300 isnt much more upscale than the Charger. Hard to say how many Chargers are sold each year. Charger is: A rental car, A cop car, A taxi cab. Who knows?
You may not want to think it is.. But the 300c is more upscale than the Charger. I know you think the Charger should be dodges mega ultimate super extreme car. The 300c is more classy than the Charger... and is more Business executive than the Charger. Thats how its suppose to be, Dodge is for performance. Chrysler is for Class. Jeep is for off road.

I think someone here in the past hinted of this...

Let me ask about the numbers today
Thanks Hemi, Been wanting to know for a while now.
PRODUCTION [Jan - Nov 12]
Charger: 101,875
Magnum: 23,252
300: 106,268
The LX cars are in a whole other class (better) compared to the rest of the Chrysler lineup. I didn't realize how drastic a difference it was until I bought my Charger R/T. I love the car. Having driven one of the new Avengers (granted a base model rental car), my old SRT4, and seeing a lot of the other vehicles Chrysler currently has out, I think it's safe to say the LX cars are Chrysler's cream of the crop. Hopefully they can improve on that (better materials and appearance on the interiors) on future versions, and bring the rest of the lineup up to par. Even my parents 07 Pacifica, which I love as far as features and interior, has turned out to be the biggest hunk of crap they have ever owned. A shame such a nice vehicle turned out to be such a letdown.

Hemi-- I haven't seen that much "disguise" for a while.. lol -- they even did the rear bumpers. Must be a total skin-overhaul.

That needs to be taken seriously. It has to go way beyond trim kits and different wheels wrapped in one-size-larger shit ATs.
They need:
Taller, beefier suspensions and steering
The electronic sway bar disconnect seen on the Power Wagon and JKs
Serious tires (31" + on Jeeps) with plenty of articulation room
Flared fenders (PA and others) and larger wheel openings
Short overhangs with high(er)-clearance bumpers
Lockers and upgraded drive trains (taller gears, axles like the new D44s on JKs or redesigned IFS with better clearance and travel)
Rocker protection that doesn't suck
That's all I can think of atm.

Why are the sales numbers of the Charger/300 so similar? Who are the new Charger buyers? A new group of buyers? Potential 300 buyers? Is it name recognition? Incentives? Styling?

the 300 is a rental too...
What you get for the price of a base 300 is much more than the Charger.
