but now that the 2008 caliber srt-4 is now a essentially a half year run, they would have nothing to gain by making it if there was a major design change coming to the caliber in 2009 (or no caliber at all?). why run a car for 6 months. that doesn't make $$ sense...

Early November production start = 8 to 9-mo. run.
2009 Caliber, yes; no major design changes.
vs a full year that they were supposed to have. our local paper just ran a huge article on the SRT-4. too bad they can't get one yet.
...With 6.1s, though, not the 6.4s that had been rumored here and elsewhere. Maybe the 09s will get the 6.4?
My position has always been that 1.) There will be a 6.4L SRT engine, and 2.) the 6.4L would NOT be appearing in the first model year of the Challenger.

They did the same thing with the original SRT-4 in '03. The southern states were getting them early in the year, I believe February. While I had to wait until July to be able to get the 1 my dealership got up here in WI.
Yeah they did the same thing with the Neon. Came out at the end of January beginning of February in Florida, California, and Texas.

Another reason to wait until MY2009
Can't wait for dealers to have both the 6.1L and 6.4L on the same lot... I bet I'll get a rippen deal on that 6.1
