Could just be a 2WD, and with him being at the back of the truck it might not be as low as one thinks. The people don't look as tall in the other pictures where they are standing in the open doors.
Notice how much larger the rear door is compared to today's quad cab version. This was sorely needed by Dodge, and an area they were falling behind. They must have the new bed on them as well considering the whole thing is covered now where previously it was left uncovered. The tailights appear to be more traditional in design instead of the bulging tailights that were on the test mules.
What's the extra foot or so of camoflauge covering in the bed up by the cab? I don't think it's the cab, you can see where the cab rounds off and starts to drop off right where that camoflauge starts.
I suspect it has new folding rear cab wall...why would you hide it?
JALOPNIK.COM - The sneaky spy photographers of KGP happened upon yet another DodgeCrew crossovers out testing in the hot summer sun. Whereas last time they got us some great shots of the overall exterior, this time it's all about the interior and the taillights of the new crossover, originally called JC49, first anticipated to be seen in the Euro market. Here's what KGP has to say:
The dashboard design looks quite underwhelming, although we would guess that this prototype isn't finished in its final production plastics. At least we hope that's the case. The three-pod layout to the guage package looks a bit retro. The overall equipment level of this prototype seems pretty basic--not necessarily a bad thing, however, in a world of overly complex driver interfaces...
A large binnacle sits centrally on the dash-top, representing either a large storage space, or perhaps a pop-up LCD screen for a Navigation system. We question some of the ergonomics we see in the JC49's interior, especially the prominent placement of the HVAC controls while the stereo sits very low in the center stack. The stereo does seem to have an AUX plug-in for MP3 players, however.
Also, we hear it's called the "Journey" now -- not the "Crew.
When are we going to get quality interiors like the Dodge Demon concept? I want a car that looks nice outside AND inside. I'm tired of this plastic crap.. Look at this interior and tell me it isn't one of the nicest damned interiors you've seen (for the price range at least)

that is the nastiest interior i have ever seen. they took a 1980s instrument cluster and plopped it on to a dash. they then put the radio and temp contols in the wrong spots.
why???
this is just gross, nothing at all appealing, if dodge wants to sell these it had better put in a much nicer interior, something that even GM and Ford are doing now. Especially as this thing (crew, journey, jc49, etc..) is supposed to be against the ford edge. im a straight up dodge guy and i would buy the ford edge over this monstrosity!!!

Someone needs to start selling real brushed aluminum replacements for "aluminum looking" interior plastic pieces. I would surely purchase those for my current vehicle.

Personally I like the dash and layout of the "Crew/Journey" Aside from the instrument pod the dash seems to be far away from the driver/passenger, This would bring back the open feeling from cars of the 50's. I like the radio down low, I typically drive with one hand on the shifter, and the low radio placement allows me to keep my hand on the shifter, and operate the radio, along with the fact that it keeps the display low and out of my line of sight, less distractions while driving. I guess I'm old school, I dont watch videos, or GPS maps, I watch the road...
