Meets 2010 new Diesel Federal Emissions...the only one at this time frame that meets this stringent requirement.

More bump in the performance arena and added the latest braking technology to the 2008 Ram's 4500/5500 series that will come in 2009 HD and redesign 2010 HD [birdie whispered this a few minutes ago].

Even though they're camouflaged, this rag tag fleet of 2009 Dodge Ram Quad Cab and Mega Cab prototypes is the real deal - not the mules previously caught with the new front clip attached to the current truck.

Some new powertrain information has also come to light.

At a recent industry conference in Traverse City, Michigan, Frank Klegon, Chrysler's executive vice president of product development, reiterated earlier statements that Chrysler is focused on producing advanced engines for all its vehicles, including the Ram.

Mr. Klegon highlighted, "A significantly upgraded version of the renowned 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with gains in fuel efficiency, refinement, horsepower and torque, will debut in the 2009 model year."

It's rumored part of the HEMI power boost will come from the addition of variable valve timing and a bump in displacement.

Chrysler will also offer a new, more fuel-efficient version of the E85 flex-fuel 4.7-liter base V8 engine, shared with the Dodge Dakota midsize pickup and featuring a 30 percent increase in horsepower and a 10 percent increase in torque over the old 4.7-liter V8.
Other gas engine news - look for an all-new 'Phoenix' V6, with MDS cylinder shut-off to save fuel, by 2010.

We're still expecting a new Cummins V8 light duty diesel soon after launch, but there are whispers of a V6 oil burner too.

Confirmation to a stubby smaller Ram by PM. Noticed the ride height versus the current Ram seeing the engineer head clears the roofline at the pump. Though, what sucks is the smaller bed...lol

Could just be a 2WD, and with him being at the back of the truck it might not be as low as one thinks. The people don't look as tall in the other pictures where they are standing in the open doors.

Notice how much larger the rear door is compared to today's quad cab version. This was sorely needed by Dodge, and an area they were falling behind. They must have the new bed on them as well considering the whole thing is covered now where previously it was left uncovered. The tailights appear to be more traditional in design instead of the bulging tailights that were on the test mules.

What's the extra foot or so of camoflauge covering in the bed up by the cab? I don't think it's the cab, you can see where the cab rounds off and starts to drop off right where that camoflauge starts.

Variable Cam Timing, no displacement bump, the "all-new 5.7's" will be 5.7L for certain.

Can we expect the 09 Dodge Ram reside on the 2008 Dakota frame?

Key: loose length size but push more cab forward to retain inside space and still save weight...what platform can they share to make a profitable truck?

SWEET!

VCT is one of many another of many new technology that is coming from the Chrysler's Engineering. I don't know the whole mechanics how it works...I need to look into this novel concept.

Also, there is another cool power train gadget that at idle, the engine turns off and when the pedal is touch it reactivates the engine. Sitting at a light or sitting in traffic, this will be a gas saver indeed. This is under going testing for awhile now but requires a new type of starting system.

Added another Hemi to the lineup but the 1500 will not get it...HD will. The smaller lightweight cummins is part of this testing group.

I'm looking at how tall those side panels are on the RAM and thinking about how hard it's going to be for me to see around it at a turn like the F150s are now. The bed walls are so tall, why not just drive a van and cut the roof off it?

As part of the optional package or standard, something that either Resumespeed or Ohioh20 can confirm is the rear camera setup.
