Tell that to the 1000s of people who DID buy Calibers, or held off because they want an SRT-4. [edit for forgetting a zero]
Gotta love those fleet sales.
I don't know anyone personally who owns a Caliber who didn't take it because they had to "settle". Usually because they couldn't afford anything more. Lots of base models out there, and lots of people who didn't want to be in an Aveo, but couldn't move into a Sebring. The cheapest model is usually the best seller, because you have first-time car buyers getting the cheapest thing they can afford, and they usually don't have any negative bias towards a specific brand from personal ownership experience.
Personally, I hope the Caliber SRT4 is faster than the numbers that have been leaked. However, I'm not amused of the cost cutting going on - specifically the lack of a LSD and the tacked-on brake replacement.
However, I was very pleased to hear Ralph Gilles state that "interiors are a priority". Sweet.

The only Calibers I see are rentals. I don't see any in any driveways anywhere.
exact opposite here lol...i know of one or two caliber rentals compared to the 50 or so in my town (3 of which are on my street)
never heard of the homosexual thing with the caliber...but they did take off the ads with the fairy thing so who knows?
I bought the caliber because i cant sit in a low car like a neon/avenger/etc... the seats are too low to the ground for me and my back kills me after 30 minutes of being in the car, plus i wanted a hatch, and i wasnt about to buy a pt cruiser, i probably would have gotten a matrix if the caliber hadnt come out. its all personal taste...
I have 2 little kids.. and I've been married for 5 years. I'm not even CLOSE to considering a Caliber. I'm looking to get rid of my car and get something I want. A crossfire SRT-6 is definitely in the running, as is an E46 M3, a Magnum SRT8 and if it happens, the Avenger SRT6. I'd also take the Challenger. MANLY cars (anyone that says the SRT6 Crossfire isn't manly OBVIOUSLY hasn't driven it.. IT'S BAD ASS)
at the prices of those vehicles, of course the caliber isn't an option for you. it isn't being MARKETED at you. not every car will meet every person likes, wants, needs. that is why there are so many makes, models... (duh)

You are right about the SRT-6 version of the crossfire. I drove one at the SRT Track experience a couple years ago and it was very impressive especiallly with the elaborate traction control system. Also drove a base crossfire here in Tysons around the same time and it was gutless and expensive... even more of a testament to what the SRT team can do to a car!

That house looks very 'familiar' - remember the engineer pics of the not release quad SRT10 a couple years back when? LOL
Challenger SRT times listed are corporate requirement and not be reality - hint. DON'T ASK ME. The last time I did that a few people got into some serious trouble. It was easy to figure out who is 'spilling the beans.'
Bean counters? Correct...someone who thought the Caliber was better move than the Concept X design that was the next Neon.
Someone needs to get the latest Viper mule that is running around the Tech Center. [beside the R/T mule Avenger with a bra wrap]..HO model...take a good look at the front lower bumper space for some 'cooling fins'.
If I send you an email can you host? (think GTS-R Concept-Esque front end)
Ive been out of the loop for awhile, we all know the 08s are starting @ 83k right?
hemidakota, any info on a supposed delay of the 08 Viper because of engine issues???
God I want my car so bad...
They are on schedule and to let you know that a 2008 ZB Viper has been destroyed by a fire [sent to a dealership for show]....MIkethesike, posted it in the blog.

Dale and Doc stated it is better handling car than the previous SRT-4. This car has more potential than the stocker SRT-4. Yes, it is weighs more but then every car will weigh more in order to meet the latest federal safety regulations.
You guys have to remember that platform teams are governed by corporate or SRT chief requirements and to ensure they are met. AWD was cost and weight factor that was left out. Whether they add more performance or not is not up to them but to the bosses to be. Meeting the new powertrain requirements for longevity is another issue. Detuning will occur to meet that stringent requirement. Yet, the question is whether not that the owners can find that potential power and to unlock it.

I would assume that there will be at least one staged pcm power upgrade. Correct?

Guess you have never been to the Crossfire boards, not many MANLY men over there... That being said, I am in the market for one as we speak, but for my Wife to drive. She fell in love with it at the track experience. It is a FAST and EXCELLENT HANDLING car, but it is definately NOT manly.
As for the Caliber SRT, I am definately keeping it on the short list for the new family truckster, to replace the Grand Cherokee, I figure with a set of Blizzaks it will do fine in the snow, for the winter weather.

Next GC receives a morph of the Commander and current GC cues. Three rows of seats.
