Beancounters at Dodge obviously have no clue what they're doing right now, they've green lighted the Caliber SRT4. NO ONE I know is interested in it. PERIOD. They don't like the look, and they couldn't care less about the power. They'd much rather buy an abundantly available SRT-4 Neon and put a few Gs into it. The Neon was a better all around design, it looked ok, and it wasn't a half assed hatch looking POS. I saw the 'SRT-4' kitted Newfoundland Caliber at SEMA and didn't like one thing about it.
The best thing they (SRT) could do right now is to green light an AWD Avenger SRT6 (w/a 4.0L TT @ 400HP) and the Razor SRT4 (Coupe w/300+HP, T6 tranny and Dana60 rear)

no need for a d60. the viper is using a d44 diff. I'm sure that's more than capable, already available, and cheaper. They also have the diff out of the LX cars (if they add an LSD) to use.

Tell that to the 1000s of people who DID buy Calibers, or held off because they want an SRT-4. [edit for forgetting a zero]

same here in cali . out of all the cars to buy i dont see how the caliber could make it on anyones list .
That house looks very 'familiar' - remember the engineer pics of the not release quad SRT10 a couple years back when? LOL
Challenger SRT times listed are corporate requirement and not be reality - hint. DON'T ASK ME. The last time I did that a few people got into some serious trouble. It was easy to figure out who is 'spilling the beans.'
Bean counters? Correct...someone who thought the Caliber was better move than the Concept X design that was the next Neon.
Someone needs to get the latest Viper mule that is running around the Tech Center. [beside the R/T mule Avenger with a bra wrap]..HO model...take a good look at the front lower bumper space for some 'cooling fins'.
If I send you an email can you host? (think GTS-R Concept-Esque front end)
Ive been out of the loop for awhile, we all know the 08s are starting @ 83k right?

e-mailer: "...expect the Challenger SRT8 in the mid 12s"
Hm. Given that the Charger SRT8s are doing about 13.0, that's not as much of an improvement as I had expected.
13 flat isn't the norm for the SRT8's. Low 13's would be more correct for the norm. Of course there are a few faster and some slower. Until we know how much weight the Challenger shed compared to the LX cars, we don't know exactly how impressive that time is.
Let's also put it into perspective. The 06 Viper with 510hp and weighing in at 3410lbs does the 1/4 in what? 12 flat or 12.1 on average? So considering the Challenger most likely will weigh at least 3800lbs (probably more) and may turn in mid 12's would be pretty decent.

It made the top ten list for cars researched by homosexuals.. so it definitely has a market. (nothing against homosexuals PERSONALLY, just shows you what the market is.. DEFINITELY not a 'GUY' car.)

The only two people I know who have bought one are non-gay guys. BUT they are both young recently-married outdoorsy types with little kids. Go figure.
I have 2 little kids.. and I've been married for 5 years. I'm not even CLOSE to considering a Caliber. I'm looking to get rid of my car and get something I want. A crossfire SRT-6 is definitely in the running, as is an E46 M3, a Magnum SRT8 and if it happens, the Avenger SRT6. I'd also take the Challenger. MANLY cars (anyone that says the SRT6 Crossfire isn't manly OBVIOUSLY hasn't driven it.. IT'S BAD ASS)
The only Calibers I see are rentals. I don't see any in any driveways anywhere.
