JALOPNICK.COM - - We've definitely shown a lot of the new Challenger lately. It seems to be getting caught in every single state of undress and in everysinglecolor on the chart. Now we can add weather conditions to that list, thanks to star tipster Evan Kelly. He snagged us these shots of the Challenger getting back in black just off of I-75 where the Challenger's getting flogged by engineers in anticipation of production next year.

e-Mail alert: Cerberus is now looking at Volvo brand, along with maintain interest in Jaguar
This may not be a good sign that Cerberus is trying to go out and these car companies. Chrysler needs all of the combined focus it can get right now. Gives me a bad feeling about there plans going forward.
MDS gives me a 5% mileage increase? (Yes when I keep my foot out of it) Therefore it is worthless. Keep it away from SRT, “But I want to get 23mpg not 22 when Im driving a race car slow”… No get a grip… I have to get rid of all that shit when I want to run a bigger cam. Your making it sound ghay at lower RPMs, and your making it cost me more to get more power out of it.
Make the 6.4 11.0 to 1 compression and it will get better mileage than a 5.7 MDS!!!!!!!!!

Think of this: if it gets the 6.1 past the gas guzzler tax then that takes a couple grand off the price of an SRT-8 Charger or 300 (or Challenger).
Seems like an expensive solution for that. Why wouldn't they just add a CAGS system and long 6th gear like they do on Fbod's and corvette's?
If they put a 6th gear that would run 1500rpm at 80mph that would in effect do the same thing as MDS right? (except for having to downshift to accelerate).

If they package MDS with VCT (like the new 3 valve 4.7) the 6.1 could see increased power, along with increased economy. At 3.50-4.00 a gallon I'll take any increase they can give me.. I am a very happy camper right now, Stage 3 on my ACR honestly brought me from 27 MPG on the highway to 31! same trip, same route, I actually was driving a bit faster this trip. (Chicago to Pittsburg) I aveaged 80 MPH for the trip.

How cool would it be to see one of Suzq's chops become reality or even a concept built by Chryco? That would be so bad ass. Then I could say I've seen a car designer in person. LOL

It was based on the MB 'S' platform...one step up than 300...earlier drawings reveals a vert and coupe versions in the beginning but what is coming is not what I would of expected. Standard V8 [not the 6.1 either] and optional V10, which I suspect was the Viper engine in the engine bay....right now, it is expected again this coming year at NY as it was supposed to be last year but the winds may change.
I did expect the Imperial to be shutdown due to the negativism from inside feedback and expected NY car under review at the same time. Some complain that it does not have any Chrysler SOUL built in...hmm! NY reminds me of the Chrono package that was destined for the upper class Baby Boomers. Limited 35-50K units per year.
