Response: S/C most likely will continue its life under the hood of the 2010 Dodge Hornet.Actually the Tritec will not meet upcoming Euro emission regulations and won’t be sold in any new car without major revisions. The only reason the Dodge Hornet had the tritec in it was because the entire car was built from a MINI. This is the first time I’ve ever mentioned this but I learned last year from a source that Dodge simply bought an MCS from a Detroit dealer and built the entire concept off of that car. Hence the tritec engine inside. Look for the final version to differ greatly from the prototype in both running gear and proportion.
Among the changes: altering the position of the transmission to reduce the angle of the half-shafts, a torque management system for first and second gears and more anti-squat dialed into the suspension geometry.
Looks like it'll have the Neon SRT-4s famous rake...
Designer: Winnie Cheung, Art Center College of Design
Engineer: Nick Kohut, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Vehicle: It looks like a miniature version of the Chrysler Firepower concept, and had the designers at Chrysler intrigued. The 99-in. wheelbase makes this rear-drive two-seater more nimble, the E85-capable Caliber SRT-4 powertrain keeps it green, and the Viper-based front suspension and steering are probably overkill.
thread#2080: Avenger SRT6 is now pushed to 2008 springtime....sorry. However, I cannot say anything for now on the why...[hint] just watch the tidbits from-time-to-time.
Seriously...If it is for any reason other than stuffing AWD or RWD in there then this will be the last straw.

If it is for any reason other than stuffing AWD or RWD in there
It would also be okay (at least with me) if it's because they're doing a frantic redesign of the Sebring and Avenger to make them less ugly and more competitive, but I won't hold my breath.

Took the words right out of my mouth. The design team for the Avenger should be ashamed. You can really tell when the effort is weak it sticks out like a sore thumb. Look at the old K cars, it looks just like them refreshed and, still out dated in terms of design. It is like re-fried beans.
There is talk with vert after 2010 based on sales....
It's more than talk -- as I heard it, it's a done deal unless the car completely flops. MY09 1/2 -- will be shown at the 09 NAIAS and out in the spring, one year after the coupe.
There does seem to be some question over whether you'll be able to get an SRT convertible, as you know...
