Ok; minimalistic is fine -- for SRT models, because they're built as "drivers cars". The standard production line could use some better textures and deeper colors in the plastic; we've been over this about 50 billion times. A lot of people could do without the hard-edge look of some of the Chrysler interiors. As the newly-refound "Luxury" brand of ChryCo; The interiors need to be softer; no hard-edges - very smooth and comforting ergonomic vehicle. I think they're aware of this and I'm PRETTY sure that the interiors are job-one right now over there in Detroit.
# The Dodge Rebel is being designed by Chrysler and Mitsubishi engineers. While both are working together on a common platform, the final cars will be different in character. In North America and Europe, the Chrysler version will reportedly be used, even when sold under the Mitsubishi name. In Asia, the Middle East, and South America, the Mitsubishi version will reportedly be used, even when sold under the Dodge name. The Dodge and Mitsuibshi versions will have unique interiors and exteriors and different suspension tuning when sold in the same market.
# The EVO will have a Dodge version, with extensive Chrysler involvement in engineering in the two door version. The four door will be primarily worked on by Mitsubishi engineers, though members of the Neon ACR team are helping them, thanks to their strong rally and SCCA success. (The Neon traces its pedigree back to the Shelby Dodges, partly through John Fernandez). Mitsubishi has been a strong rally car and their engineers are no slouches. We're not exactly sure, though, why Dodge and MMC have switched places on the Rebel - the Stratus/Sebring/Avenger coupes were pretty pure Mitsubishi.
Somehow I don't think the Rebel name will go over with Al Sharpton, et al. Lessee, bright orange with a confederate flag on the roof, just like the MINIs? (or something like that....
Did I miss something? Does this mean were going to get a Dodge version of the new Evo
Someone needs to repost that picture of the new evo with a dodge front end...that I would buy!!! Seriously I would. Lately I've been looking for any reason I can NOT to buy another Dodge, because I'm sooo disgusted with Dodge's design direction...a Dodge Rebel SRT would change that...

An article about the Hornet possibly coming to Australia.
I find it interesting that on the Allpar forum that a lot of discussion runs about what's coming out of Chery when they haven't even inked the deal and yet we have a concept of the Demon that is close to production ready, possibly some flex manufacturing plants that could build it, and a press that is drooling fairly heavily about a Dodge competitor to the Miata.
At the bottom of the article is this comment:
Quote:
Chrysler also has the Demon sports car; a hit at the Geneva show. (Chrysler Australia Group managing director) Jenkins says the company is now in the process of putting a business case together for production of the car.
“I have my fingers crossed on that one as well,” he says.
That, the Hornet, and the DEvo (Dodge EVO) from above and what do YOU think the world will think of Chrysler and Dodge?
WTF is any of this Rebel talk even remotely accurate. I thought the original rumor was the Rebel = Avenger SRT 6. I hope some of talk of this Do EVO is accurate. About 08 release would be perfect. I would have the SRT4 paid off and be primed for a new ride.
If I remember correctly, that pic was seen by DCX at the time and caused quite a storm.
Yeah, they basically threw a shit fit, it really seemed like Gturismo1's chop hit way too close to something they were working on. We can only hope.
Yeah, god forbid a few enthusiasts have the same thought processes and direction as to "great product" as the design crew.
C'mon Chrysler, we know what you're capable of. Don't disappoint.
