What is VCT, and does this mean the Magnum survives into 2009 (unless this is the change for the 2008s)?
Still waiting to find the full list of 2008 Magnum options/packages (especially for the 2008 R/T with an R/T package). AFAIK the 2008 will have HIDs, but I wonder if I can configure it the same way as the 2007s (example: factory roof rack, but without sunroof, etc.).
Hemidakota always said prior to the Caliber release that Dodge was supposed to get their own version of the Evo X. Until they decided not to at the last minute. So wouldn't be too surprising to see the Rebel come out as Dodge's version more or less.
As for the information PVO man provided....thanks a bunch! It's all great and exciting stuff. Please...PLEASE...let them show a Cuda!!!! What an awesome car to revive if they so choose to. Don't put anything less than the 6.4 HEMI in it I say.
as much as we want it THERE IS NO CUDA. GET USED TO IT.
Ummmm...okkkkkkkk.
I prefer to hold out hope they will build the Cuda eventually. I don't care what others think about it. The fact of the matter is, with the uncertainty at Chrysler right now with the sell off, and Wolfgang and Gale back in the picture, nobody really knows what will happen over the next few years until everything settles down some more. Perhaps the kind of excitement where Chrysler shocks the auto industry with suprise designs will once again return.

The sunroof, roof rack and HID's are not part of any packages from what I could tell. One of the main packages on the RWD R/T will be the "Popular Equipment Group":
AM/FM stereo radio with 6-disc CD/DVD player & MP3 capability
EVIC
Front and rear map packets
HomeLink
Illuminated front cup holders
Instrument cluster with display screen
Remote start system
Security alarm
Steering wheel mounted audio controls
Temperature and compass gauge
...This hurts. I liked the size of the GC and was hoping this thing wouldn't bloat. Why increase the size of a successful vehicle to replace an unsuccessful one?...
Size does matter. I would say look for a current size version and an extended version.
# The Dodge Rebel is being designed by Chrysler and Mitsubishi engineers. While both are working together on a common platform, the final cars will be different in character. In North America and Europe, the Chrysler version will reportedly be used, even when sold under the Mitsubishi name. In Asia, the Middle East, and South America, the Mitsubishi version will reportedly be used, even when sold under the Dodge name. The Dodge and Mitsuibshi versions will have unique interiors and exteriors and different suspension tuning when sold in the same market.
# The EVO will have a Dodge version, with extensive Chrysler involvement in engineering in the two door version. The four door will be primarily worked on by Mitsubishi engineers, though members of the Neon ACR team are helping them, thanks to their strong rally and SCCA success. (The Neon traces its pedigree back to the Shelby Dodges, partly through John Fernandez). Mitsubishi has been a strong rally car and their engineers are no slouches. We're not exactly sure, though, why Dodge and MMC have switched places on the Rebel - the Stratus/Sebring/Avenger coupes were pretty pure Mitsubishi.
Somehow I don't think the Rebel name will go over with Al Sharpton, et al. Lessee, bright orange with a confederate flag on the roof, just like the MINIs? (or something like that....

i hear rebel and think star wars or james dean. but yeah, sharpton will probably be spewing his shit...
At this point, I really don't care how many products are in the pipeline.
Put out better interiors. Nobody has overall worse interior textures, colors, gaps, etc than the Chrysler group right now, and that includes the crazy Koreans. I walked through a Hyundai lot recently, and was floored by what they're offering these days.
Sure, Chrysler interior plastics and materials may be "just as durable as the competition", but ass is ass. Stop buying grey dye. Now.
We, as drivers and owners, want to drive these vehicles. Or in other words, be on the inside looking out. I want the surfaces, buttons, and objects I interact with to be nice to the touch, pretty to look at, and not mind-numbingly 10 different shades of grey.
The interior of the SRT-4 is underrated. Very black and very well done on the platform, IMO; everything I interacted with felt like it had substance behind it.
Please, interiors. Give them some love.

I dont remember exactly what VCT stands for, but I believe it is a variable turbo technology used for controlling how much air the turbo moves, thus almost making it a variable displacement turbo. That way you can have your cake and eat it too. Spool quick off the line, and make big top end power. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes, the interior options SUCK right now. I'm actually a HUGE fan of how minimalistic the SRT4 interior is simply because there's no way anyone can call it 'wannbe luxury' or anything.. plus it's black and not that god awful grey. The 300C is 'nice' but god is it sooooo far from luxury (the SRT has nicer seats, but, IMO, is worse off due to that god awful 'carbon fiber' insert... wtf were they thinking?!)
