I thought this was out in Europe already? I saw a TopGear about it months ago. There is no way this will hit the states though. It would be like high $30,000 for one. And at that point, go buy an Evo or STi and get a way better car.

Article date is March; so yes, this is about the Euro-spec Focus RS. Colin1337's points are valid.

One of the guys at my work was sent to Mexico last month. He was telling me that they are sold there, and you can import them to the US. All they have to do is change the headlights. He went to the Ford dealership and thats what the sales guy told him. He also told me that it would cost about 26k after he did the peso to dollar comparison.
I am in no way stating that this is 100% true, im only going off of what the guy I work with said. And hes not the type of person to BS anybody.
I see two forums where mention is made of it being sold in Mexico, but no factual data yet. One focaljet guy, Pepino claimed to have posted pics of one in Mexico in his facebook, but I cant see them, as I'm not a facebook user. He mentios a pricetag of about $40K for it also.

Once the guy I know gets back from Mexico, i'll post a few pics of the ones hes seen. He said theres 2 at the building across from him that he stares at every day. Ones white and ones green. He also grabbed a RS booklet from the Ford dealer he was at. Im going to ask my uncle if he knows anything about this car being available from Mexico. He just so happens to be the sales manager at the Ford dealer by my house.
At this late in the game the Euro-only '09+ Focus RS is soon to be out of production. Worldwide production of the next generation Focus, which we are also getting at the same time as everyone else should start some time in about a year. You probably won't find any "confirmed" or even rumors this early in the game, but they'd almost have to be working on a next generation ST (top of the line/regular production, turbo) and RS (limited production, max performance) models. Some time earlier in the year Ford was heard to be gauging interest in whether to develop the next RS for both markets and there's probably a good chance we'll see it in a couple years time.
In the mean time I'll enjoy my current SVTs and now that I own one that's making more power than the new European RS models I'm not complaining as much. Even the old SVT/ST170 models are still one of the most enjoyable cars to drive that I've owned over the years. But I'll still be the first in line when we can buy a new RS here.
And here's some pics of one they brought out to the SEMA show this year. Ford made the mistake of leaving the car unlocked and I was crawling around all over it. They might need to have it professionally cleaned after I was done with it.
