Whoah, that slow? I just got through renting an ecoboost Edge for two weeks (same motor as ST) and that thing was pretty quick and a bunch heavier than the ST is supposed to be. Have any mags tested the thing yet?

You would think 9 years later car manufactures would be building much faster turbo 4's than the nsrt4. |

I would think that would be an immediate fail to release a slower car. I'm telling you after driving the turbo Edge for two weeks, I' would be surprised to find out the ST is going to be slower. I already own a Focus titanium for the wife's DD and it is a nice car...all it needs is around a hundred more horsepower.

now that they are "out in the wild"...anyone run one? I've seen a few time slips - mid 14s at 95-96 mph.
That's what my Stock GTI runs. ![]() Oh, through an auto.

go to focusst.org - there were 2 time slips, and I'm sure there are others out there by now. Granted, the cars are brand new, so owners may be a bit more careful than later on.....and no idea how they perform in a roll-race. post up when someone gets in a stoplight run!

I've driven a few. The power delivery is a lot smoother compared to the srt-4. I also preferred the seats and steering wheel over my car too.
The car handles great for being FWD, but the weight difference between the ST and SRT-4 was very noticeable to me. I think its a very solid car for a great price. I would say that its better than the SRT-4 in almost every way(as it should be since its almost 10 years newer).

I've seen a few dyno sheets that give ~230 hp and ~280 ft/lbs on new, stock STs.
However, SCT has reportedly already cracked the ECU and there's a new tune giving 253 hp and 323 ft/lbs at 2400 rpm. Also just spotted a few runs by a stock ST with no lightening, etc., with slips of 14.3-14.6 and 99+ mph.

Smoother power delivery, better handling but ultimately not as fast in a straight line. Partially due to weight. Generally speaking better all around cars.

COBB Tuning's Focus ST - Info, Status, Dyno Results, etc!
Interesting. After break in the power goes up and this in on a mustang dyno, so the numbers are pretty decent. Once these cars get to the track in capable hands, I'm thinking they will be really close to and maybe above the nsrt performance.
