Yeah, the first few timeslips and videos aren't so great, but I think those cars aren't broken in. In the next few months we'll see. Another thing they have over the nsrt is the fact that you can get a tune for them right now. It took until after the nsrt was out of production to crack the ecu.

I would have thought by now being 10yrs after the first NSRT4 that even the Ford focus ST would have been faster.

It is slightly heavier and has bigger wheels which don't help 1/4 mile times. I think it will be faster, but Ford was shooting for something else; a better car with similar performance and better mileage.

Shoot, I never ran a better than a 14.5 in my srt-4 when it was stock, but I saw people run a 13.9x with my own eyes on the same track. I'm thinking this should be a mid 13s car in the right hands.

Man you have to look at the MPH to it doesn't add up for a mid 13 second car, hell the new Dodge avenger R/t is running the same 1/4 mile time and MPH as the Ford Focus ST.

The dyno's and the track times don't match either. Weird. Some guy on one of the Focus forums was claiming to have pulled a couple of MS3s from a roll. We need more data.

Yah I just hope the new Dart SRT4 runs better than that. I guess only time will tell.

Minimal data but it still adds up. A car that weighs 300+ lbs more than an SRT, dynoing about the same stock. Definitely makes for a slightly slower car. 14.4@97 sounds right on the money. I ran a best of 14.0@99.9 in my car when it was stock.

I got a 2948lb weight, is that wrong? I added 200lbs to that for the time calcs which give a 13.7 et. The mustang dyno was like 234whp/281wtq. That's a little higher than stock SRT right?

I ran a 13.67@103 and highest trap of 104 with my stock srt4 acr 6 years ago, suspension and wider tires def helped my car though.

Go to wikyd-performance.com for all of your srt4 performance needs. Contact jtm0n3y or wonderer86 for more info

Googled Focus ST and came up with 3223lbs. I think a lot of stock SRTs were around 225whp, so yeah, it is and should be higher (rated with 20 more hp).

Obviously need more people to dyno theirs to get a feel for it.

Don't make up your mind based on one run. Here are five time slips, every one at 99+ mph (which is what my SRT-4 turned stock).

I dont believe Ford was targeting the sport compact market as a whole. They just went after the GTI which for some odd reason everyone feels is the best. After trying one out I understand the GTI is full of features, comfortable, and handles well but compared to the power of the SRT4 and wonderful exhaust note the choice was easy. The dealer even stated how I should pick the GTI. I told him the SRT is 6 grand cheaper, way faster, better looking (opinion), and I wont have to take out a second mortgage when it breaks (Only needed minor work once). The Focus RS in theory will lose to a stock SRT in a straight line. The ACR would probly win in the corners. But hey the Focus RS is more comfortable.

The SRT4. Loved by those who knew them. Hated by those who could'nt catch up. Thank you PVO.

True and it shows what great car the NSRT-4 was/is. The Focus ST is some new competition.

Random thoughts:

It's price is the same as the SRT-4 was if you adjust for inflation and it's got, up to what we've seen now, similar performance with more comfort and amenities.

For me, the only thing it doesn't have over the GTI is an auto trans option.
