Went to a local GM dealer to see if they had the new turbo solstice in, well they did but something else got my eye. Had a SRT-6 Crossfire, I have always read how nice these were. Never had a chance to drive one until now. Got the keys from the salesman and off we went.
It was a 05 model with only 6k miles, had some nice suede seats. This thing hauls some serious ass, got up to speed and more freaking quick. 330HP stock, man you can really feel it, rides smooth too. Exhaust note sounds so throaty.
Gotta love a SLK powerplant with Chrysler badges.
After driving it, I thought it had to be a low 13's sec car, went on later to read it does a 13.3 stock.

No just SLK, thats actually the AMG powerplant in there.

I used to own one of the first SRT-4s sold, bought it new in Feb 2003, sold it Nov 2006 with 75K and Stage 3. Now I drive a 2006 SRT-8 Charger.
Theres a guy with one that always goes down atco to compete in the gamblers races on tuesdays and all he has is an intake and pulley on street tires and runs consistant 12.20's. Now thats fast for a near stock car.

Im thinking about one for my next car.. How was the autostick in it? And how was the throttle response?
The autostick was ok, I just left it in drive mostly. I was pretty impressed with it from a dig, got to 60 very quick. Throttle response seemed very nice and super responsive. It just seemed like it didn't ever want to stop accelerating It has a 200mph speedo, and I believe it could maybe get close.

the car itself is a reskinned SLK32 AMG assembled by Karhman

I happen to think the SRT6 Crossfire is one of the best under-appreciated cars on the road. And at 23k, that's a hell of a bargain.
