Default Cobalt driver dies in crash

I believe this is a SS judging by the round tailights, however I see no big wing. Maybe he replaced it with the 4DR SS wing....

Anyways, here's the meat:

Weather, Speeding May Be Cause Of Deadly Crash

Two Vehicles Collide Along Three Degree Road

POSTED: 9:45 am EDT July 14, 2005
UPDATED: 10:31 am EDT July 14, 2005

ROSS, Pa. -- Wet roads and high speeds may be to blame for a fatal accident in Ross Township.

Police said Tryztian Sweeny, 19, was driving his red 2005 Chevrolet along Three Degree Road Wednesday afternoon.

That's when he crossed the center yellow line and slammed into a black truck.

Sweeny was sent to Allegheny General Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Ross Township police Detective William Barrett said, "Especially in the summertime, you get a little bit of water and the roads become very slick."

Sweeny was a graduate of North Hills High School.

The driver of the truck was treated for minor injuries.

That person's name has not been released.

Looks like an LS coupe to me. That's too bad about the driver...

EDIT: All two door Cobalts get the 4 tail lights. Confused the hell out of me the first few times I saw them.

And so it continues. Immature, unskilled drivers killing themselves. Only this time, with a Cobalt SS. Of course, it could have been anything from a Geo Metro to a Chevy truck.

Ahh, thanks for clearing that up. I haven't seen any 2DR Cobalts at all here, only the 4DR non-SS's.

haknslash, you should take SS from the title of the post before some Cobolt SS owners start replying

Its not in the title though...

I already got grilled on ************* for accidentally mistaking the LS for a SS . Seems some of them cobalt boys are just as sensative as some of the neon boys are here when it comes to getting the model of the car exactly right.

EDIT- holy hell, anytime you type cobaltssDOTnet on ANYTHING it automatically replaces it with asterisks.

The point of this thread is a terrible crash in which someone dies, and we nitpick what the original poster thought about which cars were involved. Only on a car forum.

I live not too far from that area and saw that on the local news yesterday. The first thing I noticed was that it was a cobalt.

5-star crash rating my ass.

Thoughts go out to the families involved.

Definately not a Ram of any year. I'm also guessing at Nissan King Cab. They had them tall back quarter windows.

i've been in a t-bone accident like that.. if my seat was 3" further back i would've been in the hospital.. i'm sure a lot of different variables aren't tested. If the guy was sitting like some people i've seen. seat leaned all the way back.. w/ 1 hand on the wheel.. sh*t like that could be the difference between a broken neck or whiplash.. it was a 3" difference for me..
