Edited because my temper isn't bringing anything to discussion.
Douglas, you're wasting my time, you're wasting the time of the SRTForums readers, and your obsession with me is ruining the users' chance to discuss the article. As far as my SRT-4 goes, use the search button; I sold it to one SRTF member and sold the Mopar/MannyZ/Hotchkis stuff to another one. The car was at the One Lap party in 2005.
If you want to run heads-up in an equal car, FWD or RWD, I'm game. Brian will contact you.
I'd like to apologize to the SRTForums members who had to sit through this. I'm a Mopar racer and I value your time, as well as the time you took to read the article. Douglas and I will settle our differences privately and if that includes a little race, I'll make sure everybody has the details.
We'll work something out... We'll get a car that we can both drive, or equal cars (Enterprise FTW) and take to the track to settle our differences of opinion.
I have utilized search, hence the question of whether you embelished like the people you mock in your article. FYI - Stage 3 coilovers does not make your car a Stage 3 NSRT-4.
What type of lap times did you run in that car. What track, what configurations?
Keep pumping that MOPAR "racer" thing...you and the other ~400 spec neon guys really stand out in a crowd and make us proud whenever we see you on TV or in the magazines. Nothing against the other neon guys, but they don't run around telling everyone who would lap them 3 times in a 30 minute session to "step-up to their level" and become a racer.

I will say that I have enjoyed following Doug's run for the last couple of years (and Dale's before that). I always tell the people I work with about all the cars that the lowly Neon is ahead of.
Thanks...maybe in assuming Dale's role as the SRT-4 to beat, I also picked up a bit of his sometimes abrasive demeanor!

Fair enough.

Er, why not? If it has Stage 3 power but stock suspension, is it a Stage 3 then? This is a serious question. When I bought the car in 2004, we took everything Mopar had to offer, as you can see in the For Sale listing.

I have no idea. It was my wife's car, and it wasn't a race car, so we didn't put a lap timer in it. About all I can tell you is that it was capable of hitting an indicated 130-132 on the back straight at Mid-O. It was just supposed to be a fun car for her to drive around, and until it got broken into and beat up a bit, I think she was very happy with it.

Looks to me like the Spec Neons at Mid-O would have dropped you a bit, but that's beside the point. The whole idea of wheel-to-wheel racing at the club level is to create a driver's race. Your car's supposedly faster than a Grand-Am GS car; does that mean you're a better driver than Seb Bourdais (who ran an FR500C last year), Charles Espenlaub, Craig Stanton, or Wolf Henzler? There are fast cars, and fast drivers. Don't confuse the two.

Yup... a Stage 3 turbo upgrade is typically what makes a "Stage 3 SRT-4" It replaces not only the PCM, injectors, MAP & TIP, etc...but you also get an upgraded Ex manifold and a Titanium/Aluminum wheel turbo that is about 30% larger than the factory unit. With the turbo toys (an additional option) it will put down about 50-75 more whp than a "Stage 2" car.
That was my first time at Mid-O in order to practice for One Lap ('07). Full tread, year-old, Goodyear (280TW) GS-D3's street tires and a brand new un-tested coilover set-up. Ran a 1:41 (6th overall in the OLA field - ahead of the modded flame-throwing Ford GT) on the club course with the same set-up (newer Yoko tires though) for my second trip to the track during OLA (only 3 laps, no practice...you know...).
What would make my car faster than a Grand Am GS car? Just wondering, seriously?
But since you brought up the FR500C, I was faster than the NASA-Miller Cup cars (same thing isn't it?seriously) at Rd Atl in March. 8 seconds faster than the NASA-Miller Cup cars pole sitters qualifing time in the wet (about 1/2 hour apart, same track conditions), I couldn't compare Sunday's dry times, since my car's exhaust broke in half in the only session I was able to run that day. However, I was 2+ seconds faster than there fastest Qual time with my times from the 105* day we ran their last August. (Bench racing at it's best...)
I understand the whole driver's race concept, and to an extent, the NASA TT groups attempt to level the playing field by matching a cars potential to it's classing and seeing as I am @75 whp UNDER my maximum allowance for the weight of my car, and I regularly win my events, I would extrapolate from that and take away something alongs the lines of "I'm no slouch behind the wheel". Not boasting my prowess over all that live and breathe, but I have done quite respectably against a WIDE variety of drivers and cars.

There's actually a pretty big difference between the FR500S, which is the Mustang Challenge car, and the FR500C, which is the Koni GS car. The "S" car is a production Mustang with a sealed engine and some basic adjustable suspension. It's deliberately equalized to provide close competition. So far, it's turned out to be a great race series.
The FR500C is a real race car in every sense of the word, including the engine which is much stouter than the "S" stocker. The only thing it doesn't have is a dogbox. It also might have ABS, which isn't a super-racey thing to have, but I am not certain about that.

Great! Come race with us. There are plenty of OLOA/TT people who have made the move recently. You know who they are. Danny Popp and his pal Jeremy were in my Comp School with me, and Danny won the ST1 Championship. Derek Whitis just finished top-ten in a Grand-Am ST race at Mid-O last weekend. Faisal Ahmad is racing PT and managing a team.... and that's just the people that come immediately to mind. I see a lot of Cannonball stickers on the back of race rigs, and since you run TT on the same weekends, I know you do too.
None of this has much to do with the core issue at hand, however. If you disagree with the article, then state your objection, and I'll be happy to read it. I don't think that's the case, though; I think you're still harboring some kind of issue from 2006. If that's the case, let's settle it privately. It's highly entertaining to the rest of the forum if we sit here and e-thug each other, and it makes a lot of banner ad impressions for our friends on SRTForums, but it's not doing either of us any favors.
Like it or not, you and I run in the same sanction, and that's going to be true for as long as you choose to stay in NASA as a driver. Take my word for it, from personal experience: Making gratuitous enemies on-track is a terrible, terrible idea. The day is likely to come when you and I find ourselves nose-to-tail on the Climbing Esses, or side-by-side going into Turn 9-10 at Putnam Park. When that moment comes, both you and I will want to have an absolute assurance that we are focused on the task at hand, not consumed by anger or resentment. Nothing you or I can write on this forum will put us a single inch closer to running a Daytona Prototype or winning a TT class at Nationals.
I am certain we'll figure out a way to make our "race" work. While we're figuring it out, consider the following: I have a long history of beating other people in identical cars. If I win, will that make you any less of a TTS driver? Will it settle your desire to "show me up" on the Internet? Will you feel that you were treated fairly? Will it settle your anger about the argument Dale and I had twenty-five months ago? What about if you win?
That website speed:sport:life or whatever is the biggest joke of a car site on the internet. Especially that writer/wannabe race car driver Jack. Its no wonder hes gotten banned from so many car forums for talking out of his ass and showing he has no idea whats a good car compare to a bad car. Who the hell gets thrown out a car doing a burnout? LOL fucking idiot.
Put a Ferrari Enzo vs. a Mustang GT in the same comparo and that guy Jack will argue how the Mustang is much better since its a domestic. While a pile of shit. lol.

In the interest of being exact, I'm more of a
wannabe writer/race car driver.
I mean, I do race cars. Is it really being a "wannabe" when you're actually doing it? Could we say, for instance, that Kaz Nakajima is a "wannabe F1 driver"? Why not share your opinion on this critical matter on

Actually, I'm not so much of a domestic booster; I have three Porsches and two VW Phaetons, plus another German car currently being built. To find out more about my non-domestic lifestyle, check out

P.S. I appreciate your post because it let me triple-plug the site.
Aren't you the fag that claims that a Lexus LS460 is the same exact car as a Toyota Camry, but yet you think your shitbox VW Phaeton is something special and not just an overpriced unreliable Jetta?
Sure...buddy...we should all read your pathetically retarded articles when you have absolutely no clue about cars.

It sounds to me like you've read at least two of the articles, so thanks for your support! Why not return for more later this week, as we test the Chrysler Aspen Hybrid and feature more content from our acclaimed podcaster Kasey Kagawa?
And for the record, I have two Phaetons. With 63,000 miles total on the pair, hundreds of said miles on-track, I've never been stranded.

You've gotta admit his advertising responses are pretty funny and spoken like a true P R rep... Hell, I'll even start visiting the site just to see more drama unfold...
You gotta be making a decent living where you could own two Phaetons while racing Neons on the weekends, getting kicked out for doing donuts in a Mercedes on a newly paved lot, and comparing Ferrari's to Mustang GT500's for shit's and giggles to waste up some track time you bought... That's pimp... like... real money toilet paper pimp.

Ummm...reading comprehension > you.
If you backtrack a couple posts above yours... you can clearly see I typed this...

Common sense tells you I went through your pathetic site to come up with the conclusion that your website is a joke and you know absolutely nothing about cars. Captain Obvious.
I wouldn't consider anybody driving second hand Jettas...oops I mean Phaetons baller. The Phaeton was such a a crapbox nobody wanted them, I mean to pay upwards of 50 grand for a giant Jetta with some chrome? Not even the most hardcore VW fanboy would buy them, hence thats why they are unloaded onto the market with the most pathetic resell value. You can pick them up for around the same price has a loaded Civic now. Any chump with a minimum wage job could rock one....or two.
