Hmm, if you call it super quiet, I suspect he wasn't giving it his all. they come alive after 4K, and before that dont make a lot of noise. I think maybe he just held you off, didnt go for the throat.

Naw when he was next to me I heard em pretty well until he was behind me. I just thought those cars were louder. Ive heard stock cobra's louder than that. We did 3 pulls and all 3 he was pullin from me very slow. Im sure I will run into to some more but I just was really disapointed cause I wanted him to pull on me like it was noone's business. I had alot of high hopes for that car.
My dad has a 6 speed SRT Challenger. The stock exhaust is really quiet as mentioned. The manual definitely feels faster than the auto, but most magazine drivers don't seem skilled enough to drive the 6 speed any faster off the line. I've put about 100 miles in the 6 speed challenger and I would say it should easily do 13 flat at a decent track. As others have said, with really good conditions and really good driver it could break into the 12s just as the other srt8s have.
after driving all of the srt8's the grand cherokee definitely feels the fastest out of all of them.
and my friends (who owns a 2g eagle talon tsi) and i have both completely owned them from a roll and dig to the point where the driver wouldnt even give you a thumbs up after the few runs
there was one at out local track a few months back..i wasn't impressed. all stock and i was faster..could have been driver error too and he only ran once the whole night.

Agreed, the SRT Jeep definitely feels the quickest, aside from the viper of course. We also have an SRT-10 Ram and that thing really wakes up with bolt ons.

The Jeep SRT8 is going to feel the fastest because with the AWD it is immediately putting that power to the ground from a dead stop a lot more easily than in the other SRT8 models, hence it having the fastest 0-60 time of any Dodge/Chrysler aside from the Viper. By the time you reach the quarter mile the other SRT-8's catch up
The SRT-10 Ram has always disappointed me stock, in terms of the performance numbers, but then as I understood it, wasn't it problems matching the power to the transmission that created all the issues with the vehicle? No surprise it opens up quite a bit, I always expected better numbers than a 0-60 in 5 flat.

Yeah I know the awd is why the jeep feels the quickest. I have raced everyone one of the SRT vehicles and what you say is correct about the SRT-8 cars catching up in the 1/4. You are also correct in your comment about the transmission on the ram. We have had issues with it for quite some time. It has synchro issues on full throttle track runs. It works great around town, but struggles at the track. The stock clutch also seems to have trouble when the truck is modded. Many of the fellow srt ram owners have complained about the lack of ability of the transmission. The truck is simply a blast to drive with basic bolts on though.

I wish I had 15K to buy one, I can't believe they are going that cheap in some places
Well i got a chance to have some fun on the highway with one myself. Not sure if it was stick or auto but Ill say auto for his case. My car is basically stock with some minor mods and he (SRT8) had some trouble pulling on me. We went from around 55mph and I expected alot more. Also the car was super quiet too my suprise. Hell I heard my exhaust over his. I was not impressed with a 40k + car. They may look sweet but thats about it. Anyways I gave a wave to him and he gave one back. Least he wasnt a douchebag and was pretty cool about it.
I think you're exaggerating a little on this one. Considering you're saying your car is "basically" stock I'm going to say he didnt have "much" trouble pulling on you. You need to explain your mods further before claiming to be able to keep up with an SRT8.
Here is a video of a WGA w/ported turbo / Stage 1 / TBE / alcohol injection /Intake SRT4 against a stock 300 SRT8...with all those mods the SRT4 still couldnt pull on the SRT8, in fact the 300 was "having trouble pulling on the SRT4".
Here is a stock SRT8 against a "basically stock" SRT4. Note how the SRT8 has NO problem running away from the SRT4. In fact even the lightly modded Magnum RT pulls the SRT4 for awhile.
