Just saw this on Camaro5

Nothing about a supercharged z28 though I was hoping for a 500hp+ monster. Ah well.

well, now that the fanboys are done. both cars are gonna be killer. the camaro will be for people who want a lighter and less retro styled car, and the challenger will be for the people who want a modern day vehicle with classic muscle car looks. i wouldnt mind having both....as long as i didnt have to pay for the fuel. i forsee a lot of people going with the v6 since the performance is good from that, and probalby better MPG than the v8

You guys will be in for a serious surprise when the Camaro comes out. There is hardly any aftermarket for the SRT-8's, but the aftermarket for LS-based GM engines is ridiculously huge. I predict a cam, exhaust, and intake will put that Camaro over 500whp without breaking a sweat shortly after it hits the road.

4140lbs vs 3860lbs (m6) or 3916lb (A6). The weight and gearing are going to more than make up for the small hp diff. Also, you will be able to mod and tune from the get go. A cam/headers/exhaust LS3 will be 500hp.

And I remember everybody acting like someone had shot the pope when the 05 Mustang tipped the scales at 3500 lbs.

Where's the prices!? I'm going to guess around $36,000 for the SS version. I can't wait for a full test on this car, hopefully it continues the tradition of the previous ones by having lots of speed for little money.

Fords don't make enough power to afford the extra weight.

you said "light" and "Shelby" in the same sentence in refference to the 2 piglets already mentioned above...challenger and camaro.

granted im not ignorant, safety standards along with added NHV countermeasures plus packaging of the drivetrain/its components has added all the unwanted mass. Im the type i dont care if it weighs 4000lbs just as long as people dont try to call it a bonafied sports car.....

.....cause theres nothing sporty about being big/heavy unless you're a dyke

Wait. Nobody seems to have noticed the 300HP 6 cylinder. 11.3:1 compression, 7k redline and it uses regular gas. Its like an American 350z with a few hundred extra pounds.

FYI the motor is out of the Catty CTS. 300 hp out of a v6... bad ass. . . I was up in the air on the srt8 challanger or the camaro. . . I think the camaro is gonna win because i am tired of the grey/black dodge interior.

3.

Sure it's 422HP, 10$ says it's the same 6.2 LS3 435HP engine from the vette.

Just like the old LS1 camaro and vette's dual. They advertized them with the same cui engine but different power ratings. This is the only time when a manufacture lies about something, but I don't mind it.
