Day and night differences between the cars. The Neon is crude and has it's charms, but the SS is a way, way nicer car overall. The styling and design is going to be a personal preference but put some seat time into the two cars and you may just get over any dislikes you have how the Cobalt looks.

Oh, and mine is running about the same times as a stock Stage 2 w/toys SRT-4 does on high-octane mode. Now when I turn up the boost on the SRT-4 or run slicks I can put down better numbers, but stock-for-stock some SRT-4 owners might not want to be too cocky about that one thing (straight-line performance) the SRT-4 does extremely well.

Gotta at least give Chevy props for it. Sounds like a nice car.

And just because a car is new doesn't mean they won't end up modified as well. And when you're already starting with a leg up, stock-for-stock, that could turn out interesting. The old supercharged cars really weren't that bad and were a nice driver but they didn't have a ton of potential with the stock M62 blower. That limitation has been removed in a big way on the new car and for trap speeds (which = power) the bone stock SS Turbo does quite well, even against nicely modified S/C SS's. And I'd be careful in the coming year about all the old SS models too, since they have a new Eaton TVS-based (i.e. "high-twist" rotor design) blower available that has efficiency ratings near a turbocharger's level, suck up less power to drive, and retain that characteristically flat torque curve.

the SS/TC is definitely gonna be a force to reckon with on the autox/roadx scene with lsd, tires and a driver...

I drove a SS/TC the other day at work. It's not a bad car. I'm anxious to see how they take to mods. Seeing as I work at a GM dealership hopefully eventually I can get some Cobalt SS/TC business on the side.

I am so tired of hearing "MS3 looks so much better". I hate hatchbacks.

Your right, back in '04 there wasn't much of a choice. That's why I had purchased an NSRT-4 back then.

But now I'm content with my Stage 2 Balt SC! Yeah, I miss having 4 doors and all that torque.

But for me, a 7000rpm Stage 2 rip combined with the sound of a screaming supercharger beats out a popping bov any day of the week!

But I have to admit, the NSRT-4 got me interested in hi-perf cars again ...

Props to the NSRT-4.

Please don't think that I'm trolling (I'm not!).

But I remember getting pretty bad wheel hop in my NSRT-4 as well.

Right?

HaHa!

Oh well, I'm very happy with my Stage 2 SC (if Stage 2 was not factory warranteed, I would not have put it on and I wouldn't be so happy!).

Still, I'll have nothing but good memories about my NSRT-4.

Whats with the Hatchback Hate?? Hatchbacks are the FknShiznit!!
MS3 is a nice car inside and out. I like my little neon better, but I still got respect for the MS3. On the other hand, the only thing I like about the cobalt is its freakishly tight turning radius!
