Right now Edmunds is the last American media-anything to have my trust. They're proving to have great videos of the cars being absolutely flogged, and coming up with decent real-world times.

With 103 you can do 13.6 easy.

I'd still pick the ms3 over it.

Don't expect to see the 2.0T in the Astra, however the 1.6T thats offered in Germany may very well be optional next year.

Well, atleast Chevy got it right the second time around, because we all know the Cobalt in SS trim was made to be a direct competitor to the NSRT-4 well over anybody else. Now this car with its no lift shit and VVT are making good numbers.

I wouldn't count us out quite yet. LSD is still not standard on those cars. Not to mention the best quarter mile thus far that the forum knows about is PhillyLS1's 13.6@101. I don't know what the best stock trap speed is for our cars though.

All hating aside, I loved the SS/SC and this car is sick too. I'm just faithful to the original FWD turbo car that triggered all of this. Now lets see how these cars will do mod for mod with our cars/

I forgot the ET (I think it was a high 13sec time) but best MPH I can remember was 103mph in stock trim.

stock srt-4s were tested by the mags at 13.7 and 103mph in different tests. I think the 13.7 was at 101 by C&D.

I have that '04 C&D article it's 13.9 @ 103 that they did...real world someone did nail the 103mph trap in stock trim but we know that's few and far between. Most are 99-101mph with 13.9-14.2 on average with your few that got better than those numbers and unfortunately a lot of inexperienced drivers doing way worse.

100% agreed.

You see a lot more 14's-14.5 and still up before you see 13's, simply because people have hard times launching our car. I also see this car atleast matching and even besting our 13.6 record. I heard from someone (I won't call them a "reliable source") that these engines don't react to bolt-on's as well as any other sport compact. They are really going to be in trouble if this proves to be true, with the Evo X, STI, CSRT-4, and MS3 making huge whp gain with just shit like intake exhaust, and you get the idea.

sounds kinda cool for a cobalt but I'd still take my '03 SRT any day over that thing.

Yes, I'd love to see the Astra with all of these go fast goodies.
