Well, it's happened 3 different times now. Here's what leads up to it....
-Driving 45+ minutes in stop and go traffic.
-Snowing
-Wind blowing
-Looked kinda like this:
(For Utah, that's nothing to worry about. Plus it looks like its time for a new set of wipers.)
Results/Symptoms of this....
The engine starts to stumble and I assume mis-fire. Adding RPM's doesn't help clear it up. Easiest way to describe it is it's like a spark plug wire is loose. Kinda makes the engine exhaust sound like a WRX.
I got home last night and did the 3 on/off with the key to see the codes, "done" is all I got. So no codes. Then I looked all over the engine bay. Nothing out of the ordinary was wet.
Anyone have any ideas what I could do to fix this problem???
..Besides not drive in the snow.

Does the stumble clear up after the car warms up?

huh? It's at operating temp after driving for 45 minutes.
It does clear up after I let the car sit in the garage for 30 minutes or so. Plus, it was fine on the drive to work this morning.
It takes 45 mins to reach 200 degrees? Man mine only takes about 5 to 10 mins of drving to hit that...
Anyway, I had been hainv an issue with a rough idle, and stumble when the engine was cold. However it would clear up after the engine warmed up. I was a vacuum leak... fixed now
I'm in layton. I'm having some cold weather issues but I'm pretty sure it's because of my stg2. It always idles rough. I'm taking out my mm right now because I can't stand the ride.
As far as when I'm driving, I don't really notice anything out of the ordinary.

Oh, no it warms up in 5-10 minutes also. I'm just saying that it doesn't start acting up until 45+ minutes of driving.

I pulled and inspected the plugs the last time it did this. They looked fine. I do need to get a new set and try it. That's a cheap first test.
well, it did it again last night. This time it was only raining and not as cold. Still the same 45 mins in stop and go traffic.
I stopped and shut the car off for a few minutes while I grabbed a coke. Started it back up and still doing it. I stopped again to grab a pizza, shut the car off for about 5 or 10 mins. When I got back in it got better, but still did it a little.
Any ideas?
Oh and I changed the plugs/wires since it did it the last time.
MSD coil. But I would think that if it's the coil or even the plugs/wire, it would do it any time. Mine only acts up during the crappy weather and the long stop and go driving.

Go ahead and put the stocker back on. I guarantee that is the problem right there. I have heard nothing but similar problems with that coil pack.
