Default Where is the crank sensor located??

im lost as hell....ive read a couple of threads on where it might be, as on the drivers side near the tranny...near the oil pan....i dont know...

quick story, i was riding down the road the other day and ran over a pot hole. well i was only cruising in 4th at 45mph. well it shot a flame out, btw i have a side exit, so i thought it was only a misfire. and all of a sudden the check engine light comes on. i get a P0315, i forget what the correct term is but i know it was for the crank sensor not being recognized or something like that. i did a search when i got home and found out a couple of things it could be, i read one guy had it because of a battery going bad, well ive had a shitty battery for awhile now, acid is leaking out, i accidently dropped it about 2 weeks ago putting an intake on. so i went and bought a new battery, and i figured while im at it ill go ahead and get a crank sensor in case it happens again that way i have it on hand.

well i went and ordered the sensor and it was only 47 bucks so i figured what the hell. so i picked it up yesterday and was going to put it on today before work but couldnt find the damn thing. if someone could please get a picture of where it is or detail it like your writing a descriptive essay please....i would greatly appreciate it....

The Crankshaft Position Sensor should be on the front of the engine, on the right hand side, below the starter. The factory service manual says to remove the cold side pipe that is connected to the turbo to get to it. Here are a few pics, hope this helps.

once you have the coldside/starter out you can't really miss it. Its the only sensor in its area and its held on with one 8mm (IIRC) bolt.

Crap... that's a lot of work for something that costs $19 and may not even be the issue. My car won't turn over at all. I have replaced the Camshaft sensor already but that didn't help.

what are your symptoms?

pulling the starter is very simple, remove your IM (like 20 mins tops) and take out 4 bolts that hold the starter in. Swapping the sensor should only take you like 45 mins beginning to car running again.

Well I had the whole camshaft sensor problem with it not going over 2300 rpms to not cranking at all. The starter just clicks.

I have replaced the CMS but that didn't work. I have tried reconnection some grounds but I am not sure where they all are.
