I just got back from a shop and they told me i don't even have a bypass valve and that the charged air is trying to make the turbo spin backwards. i need a bov i'm assuming. why is the car like this in the first place

its on the turbo, if there is a pink vacuum line going onto something on the turbo then you have a bypass valve. if not then someone put a blockoff plate on and had a BOV at one time but took it off and never replaced the bypass valve...and your turbo is probably shot

I found that if you take the bov/surge/rice plate off of computer control I had much much less flutter noise. stock this noise is probably just that, noise. some people like it, I hated it cause it made me think "compressor surge".

well i found what the problem is... after installing my intake i found that the hose to the bypass valve kept popping off from the pressure. once i connected it and wire tied it it is no longer making that sound. even though it still does it once a while, but i guess that normal. This is the wire that was giving me trouble
