Default stumbles bad, won't rev past 2500 rpm

Hi Everyone. I just got done swapping an '04 SRT-4 motor into my '04 SXT. Basically the entire engine/tranny assembly including k-member, suspension, wiring harnesses, etc. I started it up for the first time today and it started on the first crank and idled perfectly.

But when I press on the gas, it will rev to about 2300 - 2500 rpm and start missing really bad and won't rev any higher than that. Let off on the gas and it goes back to a perfect idle. The best way to describe it is almost like bouncing off a rev limiter, but at 2500 rpm.

I've checked for leaks and everything looks tight. Anybody know what may be the problem?

Everything is stock except for a Stage 1 PCM.

Possibly coil or wires?

hmm, might be the camshaft sensor?

i know something like that happened to Korterhorse_210. and it sounds like the same problem that he had on his car.

Ok well I just replaced the coil and plugs and no change. I'll pick up a new set of wires and try that tomorrow.

Any other suggestions what it might be?

Is there a check engine light on? Have you checked for CEL codes at all? Sounds like when I had a bad cam sensor.

Sounds like Limp Mode.

Mine went into Limp Mode when my Coolant line leading to the Turbo Leaked all over the Cam Position Sensor. p0340

Check your codes if possible.

Found the problem. It was giving code p0123 (TPS wiring) and sure enough the black wire at the TPS harness was broken inside the insulation so I couldn't see it without feeling it with my fingernail. As soon as I touched the wire back together I could hear the motor smooth out a little and then gave it some gas and it revved like a champ. Thanks for all the seggestions.

My cars are doing the exact same thing. I turn the key on-off-on-off-on and I get the p0340 error code. I hooked an OBDII scanner to it, same thing, but with the description "Camshaft Position Sensor". I couldn't go beyond around 2200 RPM in any gear. Then my other SRT-4 began doing the same thing the same week. The MIL has turned itself off, so not sure if it was just a temporary bug or it just decided to correct itself. Regardless, it's going in the shop for further investigation. Don't want to lose out on the warranty.

Thats weird cause my TPS has been broken for a long time now. Just haven't gotten around to fixing it. The wire is totally broken and just laying in 2 pieces, and it still drives and revs good. It's a little jumpy, but it revs just fine.
