I didn't read all the replies but after reading the first one I have come to the conclusion that I didn't have the stock WGA on the car when I bought it. It looks stock and my s2 wastegate makes more boost, but I held 14-15psi just fine to redline with the one on the car when I bought it. That is until I got my CCA FMIC then it would hold 12-13psi.

there have been a few guys out there with stock WGA's who have been able to hold 13-14-15psi by redline, especially some S1 guys.

I think the ECU is designed to lower boost as rpm increases. Case in point, whenever I reset my ECU, for the first couple days my boost will consistently hold 13psi to redline, then after a couple days I'm back down to 11 by redline.

I bet if it was a hot day out and I reset my ECU I bet I could see 14 or 15psi by redline. The computer is lowering the boost, it's not just the stock WGA being super weak.

Some guys do get it consistently though which begs the question, what is different about their conditions that their ECU is happy holding that boost all the way up? I know that I"m at a disadvantage just being in SoCal and only having 91 octane.

Someone should make a poll... find out which guys stock WGA's are holding high numbers to redline, 13psi or more, and what area they live in, what weather they have or what octane fuel they have. See if there is a correlation, maybe all the guys who only hold 11psi by redline live in really cold climates or get only crappy 91 so the ECU has to pull the boost at high rpm like that.

I have an 03 srt-4 (solar yellow) which is stock, or atlest thats what i think, and im getting 14-15 psi to readline. I got this car used in june of this year, only 26000 miles and great condition. I stay in so. cali and of course can only get 91 octane. But my car did drop to 11-12 psi one time and i took it back to the dealer and asked them to fix this. Its now back to 14-15 psi and they never wanted to tell me what they did to it. I know it was a boost leak though, im surprised the dealer didnt want to tell me what it was though.

yet another one. Odd though this one is on a cali car.

Lately mine has been back up to 12-13psi by redline, though I've done nothing different! It's been consistent the last couple of days. Usually it only held 11. Even though the weather has been cooler lately and kinda cloudy.

thx to whatever mod stickied the thread by the way! Didn't even notice that

I hope that others will contribute though, as far as other myths or misinfo that really needs to get squashed, let the suggestions fly if you got something! I'll add it to the first post with credit

+1 for Orange!

And post an update after you drive with the pcm reflashed...i still haven't done that after like a year of getting the thing in the mail..lol. Let me know if it helps(performance and/or gas milage) or just all around makes the car suck

Default Catch Can

I was planning on getting a catch can for mine, but just one newbish question. Is it good oil that gets caught in the can, stuff I can put back in? Or stuff that has already been spent for the most part? Newbish, I know, but info would be helpful.
