still makes me think sometimes... maybe '05's WERE detuned slightly. Sucks if it's true. Need to look around and see what people are running in stock '05's.
I know Motor Trend ran a 13.9 in a stock '03 as well, in their comparo with the SRT, MS Protege, and SVT focus five door.
No mag ran 13's in an '05 though

13.8 is based on an average driver at 8.7psi on a first gen. The only difference between a first and a second gen is a rubber stopper in the wastegate selenoid that restricts them. Once removed, they run 12psi just like in second gen models (94-99). according to many magazines, stock srt-4's run low 14's stock, im sure you've heard of many running high 13's stock havent you. http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/ro...3_dodge_srt_4/ times and statistics given by most magazines and site are notorious for giving slightly higher times than what good drivers can/and have achieved.
that article is for an 03
from various pubs (and please correct if inaccurate):
Thanks to:
Ford Thunderbird Super Coupe Club of Iowa, who compiled an excellent list of stock times from various publications.
this is why i dont trust mags. how is a 94 .7 seconds slower when its essentially, the exact same car. i try to base times off of times witnessed and the average times i see in the real world. Not some professoinal(if you can call them that) driver from some stupid mag. and look at the 93-94. 12psi compared to 8.7 and the 8.7 ran .2 faster. Fucking bullshit stats. I guess they just did one run and called it a day
Well, I would bet that if you ran 5 different cars of any type from any one model year, you would get 5 different times.
However, I'm curious whether having a sunroof and subwoofer would hurt your overall 1/4 mile times, especially in a FWD car.

I don't think it affects it too much, I have both the kicker sub and sunroof, but I'm crappy at launching haha, so I ran in the mid 14's. But then I've only taken 3 trips down the drag strip and I don't really street race so I'm still a tad inexperienced.

Oh fa show, ORANGE! BLAST! PEARL! 2 months after driving it off the showroom floor, the pcu let me spike 18 and hold 15. After upgrading to CAI and Cat Back exhaustm, 19 holding 16. HOLDING 16 almost stock. Whaaat?!!! I've beat sti's... some that have been modified. I am dead serious.

Good forum, i feel alot better now that i know some things about the srt4... sorry 2 ruin every1's favorite color on which is faster, but when i get a blue one, i'll B on the cover of a few magazines. Its because Blue is Better.
So what can we do about PTB. Because I have a forge wastegate and BOV my gauge doesn't show that I'm getting boost inless I want it. Has anyone had a problem with the boost gauge home spot is 5 voc

I'm not entirely sure I understand all your acronyms, but if you are asking if the stock boost gauge has problems, the answer is yes, in almost all of the cars. It never sits on zero, at least, very rarely as far as I've seen. Mine is in the vacuum at about 5 also.
There are some very nice aftermarket electric and mechanical gauges, I'm too lazy to do the search for them, but just put 'boost gauge' in the search function and you'll find them.
