Father And Teen Daughter Killed In Palmedale High Speed Crash

PALMDALE, Calif. (KABC) --
A teenage girl and a 54-year-old man were killed in a high-speed crash after their vehicle split in two on impact in Palmdale. The deceased were identified as father and daughter, family members told Eyewitness News.

Palmdale sheriff's officials responded to the scene of the single-vehicle collision on 25th Street East and Joshua Hills Drive shortly before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The 2014 Chevy Camaro was seen split in two at the intersection.

Sheriff's officials said the bright yellow car was traveling at a high rate of speed on southbound 25th Street East when it lost control and hit a traffic signal. The impact sheared the Camaro in half and left the car in pieces.

The 54-year-old man and the 17-year-old girl inside were pronounced dead at the scene. Their identities were not yet released by officials, but family members identified them as Vanessa and Manny Paniagua.
In the video, at 1:00 you can see the electric blue SRT-4 in the garage, and then later at 1:18 the SRT-4 is in the driveway.

The Camaro was decimated in the crash. Pieces of the car all over the place. This happened on the 13th, the day before the father's birthday.

Not sure if the owner is a member on the site but condolences, the 17 year old was the youngest of 6 children the man had Sad that this is what someone is dealing with on Valentine's Day. Prayers to their family today.

That's a sad story. The dad was obviously a lover of performance cars, and his son reflected that love with his SRT4. May they RIP, and my thoughts and prayers are with the family.
