right when i got my car, i drove it bone stock from milwaukee wi to chicago and back. Got stuck in on/off construction and 2 huge backups near downtown. Even with leaning on it coming out of tolls i averaged 27mpg round trip. not too bad.
Well No more info, but I got 360 miles out of my last tank. I just thought I would share. Also for some really off the wall reason I have 160 miles on the current tank and its only down just past the 3/4 full mark.

I had the same commute as you blazn about 1.5 years ago. it consisted of about 2 miles to the freeway, then 79 miles north on I-5, then 1.x miles off the freeway to the job site. I was able to get 342 miles before the gas light came on, and it took just under 10 gallons to fill it back up. I was farely stock at the time too. I worked at the same jobsite for a few months, and the worst I got was 31 mpg's because I turned it into a game to see how good I could do.
now, this was all 65mph or less and only 4 motor start-ups per tank of fuel.
on a side note.....I got 7.62 mpg a couple weeks ago on P.I.R.'s roadcourse = )
side note #2...
-alignment plays a big roll in mpg's. with my track alignment and daily driving, I average 22mpg on my daily commute right now.
-Track alignment = -3 degrees camber in the front, -1.8 degrees in the rear. 1/8" - 1/4" toe out front and rear.
-Daily driving alignment gets me around 24-26mpg. -1 degree camber front and rear, toe at 0 front and rear.
-Tire pressures set at 44psi

YOU SUCK! Are you trying to rub it in about the road course?
Yes I have a mild track alignment on my car. I am sittin at 0* total toe.
i average 28mpg with 50% city, and 50% rush hour highway driving. I keep it out of boost most of the time and try to coast in neutral as much as possible. I have my tires set at 28psi front and 44psi back. I heard if you set the front psi too high it'll wear the middle of the tire?
I'm going to try to get a set of skinny tires and steelies from the junkyard, inflate it to 50 and see how high I can get. Also, fold in the mirrors, and tape up the front. Go for a roadtrip on a flat strip of highway and hope for 35-40mpg.
Also, I wonder if adjusting the wastegate will help? Instead of adjusting for more boost, go the opposite direction? The stock turbo spins wayyy too fast..
average 25 in town if a pussy foot it. prob 95% city 8 miles each way to work.
just drove to WV from GA and got 29 at first fill up in VA, got in town and used about 1/2 tank and got 33mpg (good bit uphill) rarely went below 75mph
25-27 highway only=30
laast time at the track i got 25mpg on that tank.
Driving in the city, then on interstate going 75.
Thats playing around every once in a while. when i am not playing around i stay out of boost and shift around 2300.
Where i shift at depends on what i am trying to do. if i am going up hill trying to hit 55mph, i shift later. If i am only going to like 35 i shift very soon into 5th gear.
I always skip gears...no matter what i am driving.
i also coast, shift slowly going down hill. and put into nutral early.
Note that i dont push in the clutch going down hills and stuff like my brother(gets 40-50 mpg from tdi desiel)

Sure ill race you...which car you want..mustang or neon......thats what i thought, wrong choice
My last tank I was averaging 29mpg... 04 SRT4 STOCK... I just never got in to boost during city driving or on the hwy... I shift no later than 2500k and on the hwy I stay around 60-65...
I recently started to pay attention to how much fuel I was wasting... I got a scangaugeII
and I went from getting 20mpg to 28mpg just by paying attention to what mpg the gauge tells me Im getting. a
very useful tool and it plugs into the OBB2 Port and will work on most cars. ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Guages + Scan Tool
A lot of you guys must need new calculators. It is tough as hell to get 30 mpg in our cars. All you guys saying your getting 30mpg are saying you average over 320 miles per tank? Let's say you fill up, typically 11.5 gallons if you are really low. You have to run 345 to average 30. I know that is not as common as some of these guys are saying. Especially guys saying they run 75 miles an hour with the AC on & plenty of driving around town or in traffic. Gimme a break. To the guy that said he got 33mpg at 1/2 tank, you are saying you hit 200 miles at the half way mark? Cmon.

as far as i know i still hold the record as I got 560km on a full 12.3gal fill up and the light just started to flash. I avg around 25 to 28mpg.
