Default Soon to be srt4 owner

Hey guys I just had a broad question that id like answered. Im selling my car this weekend and looking to buy an SRT. My GTI would have you guys by a few cars then you would FLY past me at 90 bcuz my lack of top end with this small turbo.

I know the typical problems that attention needs to be brought to with GTI. With the SRT is it a car that will actually last over time or after a certain amount of time will it fall apart and everything need to be replaced.

Also, what are the typical things that need to be replaced after so many miles?

Will it be RELIABLE and not have to worry about parts breaking and etc.?

Thanks guys, i might be grabbing one this weekend or early next week im hoping...

it is definitely reliable. But you have to check it out before you buy it thats with any car ofcourse people are gonna beat the piss out of them. Its jsut like a regular car if you maintain it and look after it and catch shit early that you know isnt normal the car will last. If you beat on it and its already injured thats like rubbing salt on a wound your gonna get burned. But other than that its an excellent car for the money and the amount of mods that can get put on it.

I bought mine new and it has 18,000 miles on it now. I run it pretty good. No abuse but I wind it up and go through the gears some times. Only problem so far was the boost gage was bad when it was one week old. Not one single problem since. Pretty impressed with it so far.

Stock boost gauge is a piece. A lot of people seem to have problems with the trannys. Other than that, one hell of a car! I don't think I'll ever get rid of mine. ever.

lol... Once you practice in the SRT-4, you'll have your own car by over two cars- easy.

Back on topic: At ~42,000 miles, my wheel bearings went bad and had to be replaced. They're sort of pricey (about $250 each bearing + installation). Everything else is just typical maintenance which can get expensive-- tires, coolant, trans fluid, coolant, brake fluid, pads, etc. I autocross about ten times a year which is why my wheel bearings went bad so soon. Assuming that you won't be driving your car at it's limit a lot, do burn outs, "drift", or redline it everyday, I would say that this car is reliable.

No worrys mate, you just need to mention your mods before saying dat kine stuff.lol I totaly believe you now that I know your mods. And btw, I wouldnt blame your turbo size as to why we pull after 90. Have you ever seen the turbos on our cars??? I don't know if they get any smaller than the td04. Quick spool is why I like it. I agree w/you to srt4>gti. I can't stand german cars exept mercedes. Just my opinion.
