This poopie gas mileage is making me want to sell the car.
Seriously, WTF is going on? I fill up yesterday at a gas station near my university, then I drive home (all freeway miles). After 54 miles of all highway driving my gas needle is already below the 3/4 line and almost at the 1/2 line mark. 54 miles and I use almost half a tank? I didn't even go into boost at all, and I'm completely stock. Since buying the car a month ago I've already spend $282.55 on gas alone. I seriously have to force myself not to drive the car because it's costing me a fortune.
Estimated 22mpg city and 30mph highway my ass.

Either you are boosting or there is something wrong with your car.

Didn't boost at all. Even when I accelerate I would stay below in vac on the boost gauge (or at zero). I've changed the oil, changed the spark plugs, changed the stock filter, seafoamed the car, did a compression test, properly inflated the tires, etc. and I still get this gas mileage. If there is something wrong with my car then I'm completely missing it somehow.
Lesson learned from this thread: Don't believe everything you see/hear/read. Investigate/research the topic at hand so next time you can make the judgment for yourself and not be as gullible. This is a benefit because then you can be informed and vendors cannot pull one over on you.
Even under boost you shouldn't use that much fuel, you'd have to be basically doing a quarter mile run stoplight to stoplight for about that many miles to do that.

Im stg2 running pig rich and with a heavy foot I still managed 22 mpg city/highway Id say you have somthing wrong. If you feel bold you could have it dyno'd with a air/fuel test to see how rich your running.

I had some very shitty gas mileage in my SRT. I would see posts of people claiming high 20's and I was always a lot lower. I was modded though (stage 3 fuel), but still..
I know aggressive driving knocks it down incredibly.
But I cant say anything really, I went from that to a full size truck that is also modded.
But yeah like they said remember it is a small tank so it's not the same as your average car getting the same distance off 1/4 of a tank.
what is your exact miles per gallon?* My gauge is sometimes below the halfway mark and I have gone less than 120 miles, but at the end of the tank I usually go about 240ish+.* I get around 24 mpg and sometimes as high as 26, and as low 22.* I don't baby it either.* If you are getting less than 20 babying it, there is probably something wrong.* What about the O2 sensor?
using that much fuel, your o2 would ( should ) throw a code. i can get 100 miles at just a LITTLE below 3/4th a tank. all highway i've gotten right at 300 miles in one tank. ( still probably had 2 gallons left in it too ))..something is seriously wrong with the car, take it back to where you got it..lemon law dude. they sold you something fucked up. especially if you've changed everything. and baby it.

its all vaccume and throttle percentage, since i got my scan gauge i can keep better track of it, i get around 28-29 mpg on the high way at 70 to 80 mph, if do 65 i get 30 mpg.
stay below 18% on the throttle, and keep vac between 10 and 13, also try to maintain a set speed, slowing down and accelerating again repeatedly kills gas mileage.
you want want to read the how to on cruise control also.

I get 24-26 and my friends that i have been driving gets the same and highway your talking 29-34 i have seen with my car. Id change the o2 your talking like 20.00 for a new one. from there unless your fuel trims are way off there is no reason to do that.
