I even turned the MBC nob all the way and nothing changed, boost is still spking at 7psi...what could be the issue? I don't have a stg 2 WGA or anything. Any other way to up the boost?
you have to make sure your vac lines are hooked up right and that the MBC is hooked up right. The pic you showed me had no vac lines that i could see. Also you could have a boost leak a very big one

I'm not an expert but if your boost gauge is spiking at 7psi and your car is pushing less than what it should which is around 13psi, then it's either a leak or can be your boost gauge. I had the same exact problem. Got a new boost gauge, problem solved.
No offense man, but if you don't know ANYTHING then the last thing you want to be doing is messing with the boost on your car. Find a local who knows some stuff. Also, I'd suggest doing plenty of research before making any changes to the car. Best of luck!
yeah I know I know, but it's well below stock boost, almost HALF of stock boost...I just want to be able to enjoy the car at, at LEAST stock standards you know...I mean even spiking at 5psi, the car is still significantly faster than my old automatic tiburon, but 5 psi is like what, 1/3 of the stock standard...

IMO, if you want to raise the boost, make sure you have the proper monitoring tools and your car is up to date with maintenance. I would ditch the MBC and at least go for an aftermarket WGA. Read the stickies and browse through the how-to section and you'll have a lot of your questions answered.

X2. I didn't know much about my car at the beginning either. Just take it to a performance shop and ask them questions. and keep reading the forums. lots of good stuff
take out the boostcontroller and blow air through it while adjusting it.....if the amount of air flow changes while adjusting chances are your BC is fine.
now the only way to test your wastegate is to buy mine off me
jk..... No but seriously i have an aftermarket for sale.
what did you do with the stock vacuum lines?

wasn't a boost leak, the moron who owned the car before me installed the MBC backwards so the raise boost is lower boost and the lower boost is raise boost, and be it me the moron who never bothered to reverse them -_-. Now the main issue is I can't quite find the spot where stock is...so let me get thsi straight
1st gear spike at 18
2nd gear spike at 15
3rd gear spike at 13...stock (at 3500 rpms)
is this correct?
I really really don't want to over boost and damage by engine.
