When I first modified my original 04 SRT-4 it was with straightline performance in mind. I had more than a few arrogant Mustang owners to obliterate, and frankly it was'nt that hard to achieve the goal. Cosmetic mods like removing the wing and going with a side exit exhaust was not out the question. However now that I have my 05 Commemorative Edition SRT-4 the path has changed. Here is the dilemma....
The good
1. The car is already S3R w/toys equipped and makes plenty of streetable power. Has an intake too.
2. It has only 25K miles
3. It has solid mounts and rear tension struts
4. Has an ED direct fit intercooler waiting for install
The bad
1. I cannot do cosmetic mods to a commemorative, it would not be right
2. Still has stock wheels, I wish someone would make some 17X8's with the stock spoke pattern.
3. Has only the Mopar Borla exhaust, it is only 2.5" and is louder than hell.
4. It has two stock struts and two coilovers in the rear (Mopar S3)
Here is my proposed changes.
1. Add a Moroso Spiral muffler to the Borla exhaust
2. Install an Electronic cutout downpipe w/Cat
3. Diablosport tune w/ 93 and 100+ octane tune for open cutout
4. Install a new set of BC inverted Coilovers and Camber plates
5. Thicker sway bars (at least a 24mm rear)
6. Find a shop that makes custom rims, or find a set of White lightwieght 17X8 rims
7. Install ACR harness slots
8. Install a harness bar with belts
9. Oil catch can
10. Gianetellli ignition components with a coil heat shield
11. Blue powder coating of Valve cover, Top motor mount base and thermostat housing. Silver intake manifold powdercoat.
12. 44lb Turbine wheel w/porting (Forward motion E3)
13. 750cc injectors
14. External BOV (Tial)
15. Stock replacement headlights (Moisture in the ones I have)
16. WOT box/2-step
17. Cruise control
On the outside I wan't a stock appearing ride, with some serious shit under the skin. I want high to mid 11's in the 1/4, but also a car the can be autocrossed or road raced in a pinch.
