Default Making a plan...

When I first modified my original 04 SRT-4 it was with straightline performance in mind. I had more than a few arrogant Mustang owners to obliterate, and frankly it was'nt that hard to achieve the goal. Cosmetic mods like removing the wing and going with a side exit exhaust was not out the question. However now that I have my 05 Commemorative Edition SRT-4 the path has changed. Here is the dilemma....

The good

1. The car is already S3R w/toys equipped and makes plenty of streetable power. Has an intake too.
2. It has only 25K miles
3. It has solid mounts and rear tension struts
4. Has an ED direct fit intercooler waiting for install

The bad

1. I cannot do cosmetic mods to a commemorative, it would not be right
2. Still has stock wheels, I wish someone would make some 17X8's with the stock spoke pattern.
3. Has only the Mopar Borla exhaust, it is only 2.5" and is louder than hell.
4. It has two stock struts and two coilovers in the rear (Mopar S3)

Here is my proposed changes.

1. Add a Moroso Spiral muffler to the Borla exhaust
2. Install an Electronic cutout downpipe w/Cat
3. Diablosport tune w/ 93 and 100+ octane tune for open cutout
4. Install a new set of BC inverted Coilovers and Camber plates
5. Thicker sway bars (at least a 24mm rear)
6. Find a shop that makes custom rims, or find a set of White lightwieght 17X8 rims
7. Install ACR harness slots
8. Install a harness bar with belts
9. Oil catch can
10. Gianetellli ignition components with a coil heat shield
11. Blue powder coating of Valve cover, Top motor mount base and thermostat housing. Silver intake manifold powdercoat.
12. 44lb Turbine wheel w/porting (Forward motion E3)
13. 750cc injectors
14. External BOV (Tial)
15. Stock replacement headlights (Moisture in the ones I have)
16. WOT box/2-step
17. Cruise control

On the outside I wan't a stock appearing ride, with some serious shit under the skin. I want high to mid 11's in the 1/4, but also a car the can be autocrossed or road raced in a pinch.

last I heard no one has the 44lb wheel, I wouldn't pay for custom wheels, and just get a set of black headlights.
other than that it all sounds like a solid plan...

The Forward Motion E3 turbo setup from DCR has a 44lb Turbine wheel.

No aftermarket exterior mods on my Commemorative edition, a Neon headlamp is like $60 at a salvage yard.

If price becomes a factor a set of white wheels like Konig Bumps or OZ HLT's will work. I have two sets of stock rims. I need a summer tire set, Winter tire set and a wide set for competition (With Hoosiers or Competition Kumhos)

not trying to argue with you, but I think you're wrong. 47lb is what's readily available. you can go in and add... New Pricing on FM's stage 3 turbo upgrade

Darrell Cox Racing - Stage 3 Upgrades (Powered by CubeCart)

I think you mean 47lb compressor wheel, not the turbine wheel. The E3 should have a 47lb compressor and a 44lb turbine

Plan sounds good. Only thing I would suggest adding if you don't have it already:
Wideband
Scan Gauge
Meth
Diablo Tune from Turbo666

1. Does the borla really bother you that much? Get a Thermal R&D 3" if so. One of the best out there, and definitely the quietest.
2. No. Waste of money if you install the Thermal exhaust.
3. Yes.
4. Are you going to be doing a lot of road racing? If yes, then go inverted. If no, then don't waste the money and just go with the normal C/Os
5. Yes, even if not road-racing, these are a huge help.
6. Custom rims?! You're better off widening the stockers if that's the sort of sleeper look that you're after.
7. & 8. Again, if you're doing a lot of racing, then why not.
9. Overrated, but cat least it's cheap.
10. NO! Stock pack is great and the stock wires are also very good. This is a completely unnecessary mod.
11. n/a
12. Good luck finding one. Might as well go 47lb.
13. Overkill. 650's and a returnline will push you into the 11's, no problem.
14. Unless you really like the silly noise, then there's no point. Add a washer or two in the stocker if you insist, but you'll see no real performance benefit from running an aftermarket BOV.
15. Or some retros
16. Add a boostbox to that.
17. This one sorta contradicts all the performance that you're adding, but whatev, it's your car.

3. Yes.

9. Overrated, but cat least it's cheap. (Got a puddle already in the pipe)
10. NO! Stock pack is great and the stock wires are also very good. This is a completely unnecessary mod. (Stocker has burnt out already, heard good things about the Giantelli for a stock replacement)
11. n/a
12. Good luck finding one. Might as well go 47lb. (Whatever is availiable)
13. Overkill. 650's and a returnline will push you into the 11's, no problem. (I rather dial down the pulse widths of the 750's with a predator than screw with a return line)
14. Unless you really like the silly noise, then there's no point. Add a washer or two in the stocker if you insist, but you'll see no real performance benefit from running an aftermarket BOV. (At 24psi the Stock surge is not enough to keep the S3 from surging, I can hear it already)
15. Or some retros
16. Add a boostbox to that. (Have slicks and dial a boost)
17. This one sorta contradicts all the performance that you're adding, but whatev, it's your car.

(drive 30 miles to work)

30 miles, bah, that's nothing. But, I can totally understand why you'd want it. Good luck!
