I have never been comfortable with tieing into the sheet metal for the core support. Move those support beams up into the frame and you will have a winner.

Is it just me.. or does it look like there are just hardly any points that actually bolt to anything solid?

Looks like alot of extra weight....Nice fab work though man,I give you props on that but what exactly is it supposed to do? I don't really get it.

Too much useless material:
90% of the members add little or nothing to the strength of the design. Everything foward of the sway bar needs to go. SAME or MORE strength to accomplish the same goals by going in the OPPOSITE direction with 85% less material by reinforcing to the frame which is only INCHES away btw and not several feet away. Extra material = more weight = more money.

Too labor intensive($$/time) to manufacture:
Too much extra time to hand mig-weld joints vs sheet metal and spot welding

Poor Design (if designed by an engineer, he's not a very good one) :
It looks like the assumption was made that the BOLTS that retain the strut bushing deflect more than the bushing itself. I don't this is entirely true, if it were, stories of failed bolts would all too common, personally I never of anyone failing bolts.. but i could be wrong. For the sake of argument lets say the bolt's deflection is the problem. When load is applied , the LCA should create a moment(close to parallel to the ground plane) around the front bushing. The reaction force needed to secure this moment is not consistant with the geometry of the design.

I could go on about the lack of merit of the rocker panel reinforcement shown in the pic too, if you want.( the attempt to increase Moment of Inertia is all wrong)

heres some pics of most everything I have made for the srt4 so far. Please bear in mind more products are going to be prototyped in the near future. The front piece is getting traction bars. Thanks duster360 for saying reinforcement for them is useless. And I'm making either aluminum or chromoly IRS bars to replace the factory stampers. I am going to try to bring as many track proven things onto your cars so please bear through the testing and prototyping with me.

Thanks for looking/commenting.

Figure out a way to tie those 2 side pieces to the front at the 2 bolts at the lower firewall and i think you will see a huge difference, I was looking at that and really that is the only thing that connects the motor/tranny/suspension to the body, I think there is a ton of flex going on there with the factory rubber bushings, probably the leading cause of wheel hop. I think having something to brace that area alone would be some improvement.

I dont think it would make too terribly much of a difference. Heres why. The weakest thing I found on the chassis setup of the srt4s was the section that runs from directly behind the front subframe and the first lateral sub brace. The said piece of factory subframe has holes stamped in all sides of it and lies directly underneath the vehicles occupants. By bracing that alone i think is what
makes the most noticeable difference due to the lack of integrity of the piece at hand. But thats just my $.02
