Just wondering, I've had 2 of these now and they seem to be a car that runs a little on the warm side, mine usually runs right above the middle (200), and so did my last one, is this normal?
If so, is there anything you can do to get the temps down, I'm in FL and it's hot down here, but it just seems weird that these cars run warm.
its normal for all srt-4's to run between 190 -210 F. unlike most cars our temp guage is straight from the source, thats why we can see it move alot unlike some cars. its perfectly normal and thats how dodge designed it. i was cruising yesterday and at every stop the fan would kick on, i forgot how loud it can be.

the high speed fan doesn't kick on until ~215. Unless you are regularly getting into that high speed fan you shouldn't really be concerned about the temp.
ha that straight from the source part is cool to know. I've watched mine when I'm at the track and whenever it goes above midline (200?) I turn on my defroster full blast for a few minutes while I'm in line and it drops it right back down. Have not gotten evil eye yet for dripping water.

i always use to turn on my defrost to let out all the hot air out when mine would sit and rise above the middle mark which is 200 until about a year ago someone started a thread like this an explained alot about our temp guages and that straight from the source thing, i can't remember the details but it was something like most vehicle temp sensors are delayed and wont jump unless its considerable because its sending unit is connected to.... i can't remember but i do know our temp guage is straight from the sensor and i think its great, i wish more companies would do this.
Going uphill in about 104 heat, with three adults and the A/C on max it got up to about 215 once or twice, but for the most part she sits at 200. Even today in traffic with it 108 out, it never jumped above maybe 205.
going with a lower 'stat will not lower the temp of the car when it is sitting still, only when in motion, so if you want to see lower numbers in traffic, you need to lower the fan turn-on temp.
In the srt chat sessions, they said it was designed to work at these temps though. Going colder may help with detonation, but the gas will not cook off the oil as fast, as well as the gasoline will not vaporize as well when it hits the back of the intake valve (Something that they do with SFI/MPFI systems).

if you read the book you get when you buy the car it will tell you under temp that is should run slightly below or above the 200 mark so it is perfectly normal and turbo cars always run hotter.
I think I'm going with a 180 t-stat and 2 FAL slim fans that are gonna come on at the turn of the key a coolant flush and some water wetter.
This shouldn't hurt anything should it!?
Not sure about the fans, if you mean on top of the stock ones, then your alternator is going to hate you, I blew one up on an e-fan conversion I did for an S10 I had a while ago. Entire diode/rectifier pack was howling like a wolf. I believe the factory pcm turns the fans off after a certain speed is reached (since it's redundant), you might want to try to figure that out with the other fans, because it's going to pull unnecessarily hard on your alternator on the highway when it's not needed.
The other stuff sounds good though, just remember to get the proper G05 HOAT coolant, nothing else is approved by Dodge.
