How long was it from the time you first learned how to drive standard till the time you first crept on to the freeway during peak rushhour traffic, only honest posts guys!!!! >_<
just wondering...because I don't want to be jinxed by the kid who bought a BLACK SRT4 from the SAME dealership ( this isn't a dodge dealership either ) and TOTALed it 30 hours later on the freeway....very creepy...
Damn dude, just saw your name was Korean_evan. Good thing you're not driving in Korea. I had a huge dump truck take my mirror off on a mountain road over there. I got blasted in the face with glass and had to pick it out of my face and neck. The only thing that saved my eyes were my sunglasses.
not very long...I was more scared of hills than anything the first few times (especially when someone came up behind you and sat right on your rear literally)
Obviously no situation is a problem anymore (many years later)

I've been driving stick since I was like in the first grade. I had my first car when I was 10 (A little geo that me and my dad built together). So when I got my license I drove everywhere pretty confidentally

just took it out on the feeder, was having problems getting directly from 2nd into 3rd...was worried it was the problem everyone was ahving, but after I took my time, and shifted back into the middle, and then up into 3rd, it worked everytime, so I think maybe I was doing something wrong...freeway...it's a possibility tomorrow, but I'm sitll not confident in my multi tasking skills.
when in 2nd just puch straight up and it will pop in 3rd if you do it right

I'd never driven a stick.
I had my auto 1998 Neon, Drove to a friends house 2 hours away from my house and did a 5 speed swap.
I was up for over 24 hours when we finally got done with it in the morning around 5 am. (Took us about 12 hours).
When we got done I got in the car, and drove 2 hours home. Never killed it on the was home but I did get pulled over for speeding.
My excuse to the officer was it was my first time driving a stick and I wasn't sure how to slow down, lol.
I even showed him the old ATX that was in my trunk, and he gave me a warning
hmm, took me about an hour to get used to the srt. it was my first car that was a stick, wasn't really good at driving it for the first month, but have made much improvement. the only thing i ever had problems with when I started driving manual was getting it in 1st. if you just read up on how a manual trans actually works, it comes much easier to you.
previously learned on a escourt, cobalt ss/sc, old ass VW beatle.

When i was 15 or 16 my friends and I were driving somewhere, but I had to go home for something and they said drop us off, and you drive home. Well, that was my first time driving stick and I stalled a few times but made it home ok including driving on the freeway. Freeway is easier in my opinion because you're just in one gear most of the time unless its stop and go.
I'll also comment on the fact that out of all the manual's I've driven (over 20 different types of cars) the SRT4's clutch/tranny is by far the easiest to drive.
My SRT was my 1st Manual, and i hated driving out from school the 1st week. Had to drive uphill out from the parking lot. I had to drive on the freeway the same day i got it
