So put net mani gasket on, and it still whistling??? Im going to check the bolts in the morning make sure they did not lossen up. The old gasket looked fine. And when the car does make this whistle sound it is slower, no where near the snap, Have to drive like 10-15 mins before it seems to go away? So its not a hardpipe leak, or mani leak, what if it was the rubber seal around the compressor thats leaking air, and its not untill the turbo heats up and expands that it starts to seal up? More boost louder the whistle, less boost not as noticeable? Boost leak checks, and does not seem to leak anywhere? It does not make any sence. Could it be some seal on the turbo thats making this sound and loss in performance? Sounds like a baloon when you squeze the tip and slowly let the air out. We got to figure this out, not only is it annoying but the car just seems to fall on its face untill it gets hot?

it does get louder when you remove the intake. which is leading me to what someone said. its like when you blow over a coke bottle and get that whistle.

Than it is 'turbo' related, not intercooler piping or intake mani, Its some kinda seal on the turbo it self. Im thinking its that big rubber seal that seal the compressor to the turbine.

Everything works fine on myne too. I only have 74000 miles and the turbo is used rarely. I don't have the money to buy a whole nother turbo.

I dont think its the turbo 'shaft' I just think it may be a seal that needs replaced. Compressor seal is not hard, just need a pair of snap ring plyers to get the compressor off. I did tighten my mani, hard pipes, and my charge pipe connected to the turbo it self. Intake, and i went out, warmed it up good before wot, and no whistle YET, ill see if i have it tonight. Anyone ever check the charge pipe? The pipe that connects to the back of the compressor. Mine was kinda loose, but when i heard the whistle it still held boost? So i was not getting a leak?

Well no whistle yet again tonight!!! Things i did. Tighten mani bolts, but have done this before i changed the gasket and made no difference, but did it anyways. One thing i NEVER thought of, i tighten the charge pipe on the back of the turbo, Just take your intake off and the clamp is right behind the turbo. Like i said before, mine was kinda loose. Soo you guys that have this whistle try this and post back, we may have found the tea pot whistle!!!!!

Is this the pipe that would go to the intercooler? Basically the hot side pipe?
