so say im cruising in 4th, come to a turn and want to down-shift into 2nd, it takes more effort to get it into 2nd than it would to say, down-shift into 3rd where it goes right in. I know we dont have the best gear-boxes in the world, is this a problem? It does it the same on OEM fluid and Royal Purple Syncromax.
QFT! You could also look at adjusting the 'neutral' setting on the cable itself that bolts onto the shifter.... Think there is a thread in the How To....
I used to not be able to downshift into 2nd sometimes, but now it's to the point where I basically can't downshift at all into 2nd. I'm going to adjust the crossover cable today and if that doesn't work then I'm taking it in for warranty.
Is double clutching, pushing in the clutch, pulling it out of gear, releasing the clutch, pushing it back in, then going into 2nd?
there are alot of how tos on youtube, basically you rev the car while its in neutral with the clutch out, if the clutch is out it will speed up the input shaft in the tranny, then you throw the clutch in real quick and put in gear before the revs fall, it'll go in real nice. the double clutch part comes from the fact you have to put the clutch in to get it in neutral, let it out and rev it, then push it in again to put it in gear.
double clutching works, its all i do if i have to go down into 1st or 2nd, its basically impossible to get it into gear if i don't or u can heel-toe it if u feel like your a badass
Ya my 2nd gear is pretty hard to down-shift into but it has the maddog 80% throw reduction with the shorter arm so I blame it partly on that. no leverage ftl.
