Default Gauges acting wierd...

Hi, I was driving today and my gauges went bonkers. I think it was all the gauges or just the fuel. But anywho, the fuel line was right above red part. Then suddenly, in blink of a second I saw the lines hit the max of gauge. Like the fuel flickered the fuel, but bam! it dropped to the last line on the fuel gauge. I got really scared and luckily home was just like a few 100 feet away. But has anyone had this experience? Should I be worried or concerned?

BTW I have a 2004 SRT-4, live in Vegas.

the wireing harness for the guage cluster runs right behind the clutch petal so when you press the clutch all the way to the floor it mashes the harness and can eventualy cause it to short out. check the wires and make sure they arent crushed.
